P&C Breaking News

Mr Carr received some amazing news this week, and we are going super-duper crazy at school.

Mrs Sarah Clack from our teaching staff has spent many hours putting together a grant to fund our fixed play equipment. Mrs Clack's hard work to this program has rewarded our school a generous grant of $150,000.

This is massive achievement, and we thank Mrs Clack for her ongoing commitment - thank you........you are amazing !!

We will be working collaboratively with Lake Macquarie Council, the P&C Committee, as well as students to design a new, 'out of this world' playground for everyone at Swansea Public School.

Watch this space - we will update you as we travel this very exciting journey.

Remembrance Day

Mr Carr and two of our students represented Swansea Public School at the RSL Commemorative Ceremony today to acknowledge Remembrance Day 2022.

Lilly C and Maddison J both had the important role of reading a poem to remember our armed forces. Mr Carr reported that the girls represented our school with outstanding respect and are amazing role models for their peers. Thank you Lilly and Maddison.

At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them.

The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, which began at 11.00am on 11th November 1918.

As The Last Post is sounded on Remembrance Day at the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month we will pay tribute to our fallen. They never returned but they will never be forgotten. “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

Library News

Deano Yipadee recently visited Swansea Public School and the children and staff loved it!

Deano has topped the book charts many times in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. His books are available in over 20 countries around the world and we were honoured to have him visit our school.

The photos will give you an idea of the awesome time we had.

Thanks Deano and thank you to Mrs Carlson for organising such a great event.

NRL Rebel 9 Team

NRL Rebel 9's Challenge

On Thursday, Week 3 our U12s Rugby League team travelled to Dudley to participate in the NRL Rebel 9s Challenge. The team won all 3 of their games throughout the day, defeating Dudley Public School, Wiripaang Public School and Belair Public School. The teamwork displayed by our students was exceptional with 8 different try scorers on the day.

Mr Andrews commends the team on their sportsmanship, respect and enthusiasm across all 3 games.

It was a pleasure to be a part of such an achievement for the team
