Children are asked to wear their Sports Uniform and can also choose to wear footy jumpers/shorts/ colours if they have suitable options. The morning is being provided by a local Auskick group. Monday- Burning of the Palms

Burning of the Palms

On Monday we celebrated a beautiful prayerful service, by burning palms to make ashes as a symbol of the beginning of Lent. Each child added old palms to the fire pit and then it was lit. The burnt palms were blessed by Fr Gerard, and then crushed to make ashes to be placed on the forehead on Ash Wednesday. Thank you to Anne Maree Noonan for this beautiful reflective experience for our children and staff.

Shrove Tuesday

Enjoying Pancakes

On Tuesday, we celebrated Shrove Tuesday. There was excited chatter in the air as the children chose and placed their special toppings for their pancakes. The happy smiles on the children's faces was lovely to see. Shrove Tuesday, the last day before Lent, is historically a 'shrove time' the last chance  to use up goodies in your fridge and cupboard  e.g.  sugar, fats and eggs  before a season of fasting.

Ash Wednesday Prayer Service

Ash Wednesday Prayer Service

On Wednesday, the children participated in a prayer service to recognise Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. We used the ashes from Monday's prayer service that were blessed by Fr Gerard, and Anne Maree Noonan our Religious Education Leader, made a sign of the cross on the foreheads of children and staff to remind us all of this very important church season of Lent. Both prayer services were a beautiful way to begin such a significant time in the church calendar.

Footy's Back!

Financial Assistance

Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund will ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities.

School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum.

CSEF will be provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance will be paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

The annual CSEF amount per student will be:

  • $125 for primary school students
  • $225 for secondary school students.
  • How to Apply

Complete the  CSEF application form that was sent home today and return to Gail in the office.

    Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th March 2022

As we begin this journey through Lent, we trust in the call of the Spirit who beckons us out into the wilderness, to see more clearly, to love more dearly, and to follow, more nearly, the Lord of Life. The First Reading shows that faith in the Lord leads to deliverance into life and fullness. It anticipates something of the saving power of Christ which brings fullness of life. St Paul, in his letter to the Romans (Second Reading), reminds us that this salvation is very near, because the Word is alive and active in our hearts and on our lips. The Psalm speaks of the Lord who is with us in all our distress, and in whom we can trust – while the Gospel sees Jesus himself putting his trust in the Father. Overcoming his testing, he continues to walk in the way of love.
