Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Congratulations Tournament of Minds Team!

It was a privilege to watch our amazing Tournament of Minds team participate in the State ToM finals at the University of NSW on Sunday. The team showed amazing cooperation, resilience, determination and critical thinking and I’m sure performing at the State finals is something they will always remember.

Congratulations Beau, Arabella, Jaya, Harry, Levi, Scarlette and Will on an outstanding achievement.

Tell Them From Me Survey

In the coming weeks, we will be inviting students, teachers and parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.

We would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. We would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at our school.

The survey is anonymous and can be accessed by clicking on the link below:

JESSICA

“Hello, my name is Jessica. I have a baby sister and she is very cute!

At school, I like to play math games with the dice. I love reading groups and my favourite book to read is 'Blackberries'. I also love Monster Words and I can already read one hundred sight words.

At home, I like to help my mum do the washing up.

When I grow up, I would like to be a teacher."

PREMIER'S SPELLING BEE 2022

Congratulations to the following students who entered the Premier’s Spelling Bee - Levi, Lailani, Luke, Egan, Arabella and Connor.

Arabella (junior division) and Levi (senior division) also competed in the Regional Spelling Bee finals. Both students represented our school via Zoom and had a wonderful time spelling some very tricky words!

Students will be receiving their certificates at next week’s assembly.

CANBERRA EXCURSION - POSTPONED

With our sincere apologies, we would like to confirm that the Stage 3 (Years 5 and 6) Canberra Excursion has had to be postponed due to the National Day of Mourning Public Holiday on Thursday 22 September, 2022.

Since our recent notification from Federal Government that the public holiday coincides with our excursion, we have been informed that a range of previously scheduled activities are unable to take place in Canberra on that day. After long deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to move the excursion to Term 4. A note outlining the new date and itinerary will be shared soon.

P&C NEWS

Slime Spectacular Fun Run

To allow more time for fundraising we have postponed the Slime Run to Term 4. This will now be held on Friday 21 October. The class that raises the most amount of money will get to SLIME THE PRINCIPAL!! How satisfying would that be! Thanks Mr White for being such a great sport!

Any student who raises money, starting from $1, will go into a class draw. One name from each class will be drawn and receive a beautiful book from ‘BooBooks’ in Huskisson. There are now many reasons to get cracking on raising funds. We want to raise money for the school, help improve our environment, win a beautiful book…but most importantly…SLIME THE PRINCIPAL!! I can’t wait to see which class raises the most money.

Extraordinary Meeting

There will be an extraordinary meeting held on Wednesday 21 September at 6pm in the Library. We will develop an advertisement for the position of Director at ‘Tall Trees’ starting in 2023. All are welcome to attend.

Next P&C Meeting

The next scheduled meeting is on Tuesday 25 October (Term 4, Week 3) at 6pm in the Library. All are welcome to attend.
