Tell Them From Me Survey

This term, our school is taking part in the Tell Them From Me student survey. The survey is for students in Years 4, 5 and 6 and will provide us with ongoing feedback on what our students think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. The survey is completed on-line and is run by an independent research company, The Learning Bar, which specialises in school-based surveys.  The survey is voluntary and anonymous.  If you do not want your child to take part in the survey, please complete the parent form and return it to your  school by Tuesday 9th April.

No Food Sharing

All families are reminded that Sutton Public School has a “No Food Sharing” practice. Our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our students and inclusiveness of all children is behind our practice of no sharing. This practice has been designed to limit potential dangers of exposure to food allergies and in recognition of the differing dietary positions within our community.

Our “No Food Sharing” practice includes the gifting of Easter chocolates and food.  All families are asked to support us.  Cards, stickers and tokens are alternative ways in which staff, students and community members can recognise the season of Easter.

Woolworths Earn and Learn

Earn and Learn Registration is now open for schools who wish to participate in the Woolworths Earn and Learn program.  Through our participation in past years the school has received some excellent classroom resources, games and craft supplies.

We are seeking a parent who is willing to coordinate the collection, counting and recording of stickers between 1st May and 25th June.  If you are able to assist, please contact the office.

Have Your Details Changed?

Just a reminder that it is the responsibility of parents  to notify the school of any changes to their details. This includes phone numbers, addresses etc.  It is also important to notify the school of any changes to any new or revised medical issues eg. allergies, changes in asthma plans or implementation of asthma plans, anaphylaxis plans.

If you need to update any details please contact the office either in person or by email: sutton-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Rotary Public Speaking

Congratulations to our students who represented Sutton Public School in the Bugendore Rotary Public Speaking competition this week.  All our students are commended for their confident and engaging presentations. Well done Aubrey, Mikayla, Johanna, Heidi, Ali and Henry.

Permission to Publish Student Work

Sutton Public School is always keen to acknowledge the great work done by our students.  Often the school presents/publishes or displays students work within the school (eg classroom, hall, foyer) and outside the school (eg CWA hall, library, local businesses).  Students are identified only by first name and last name initial only.   If you DO NOT give permission for your child’s work to be displayed in this manner, please notify the office.

Church Service for Scripture Students

An Easter Church Service will be held on Thursday 11th April 2019 at St Peter’s in Sutton for all students who participate in Special Religious Education ( Scripture ).  Students will walk to and from the church. Supervision will be by Sutton Public School staff and SRE volunteers.  Parents wishing their children to attend are asked to return a signed permission note by Wednesday 10th April. (Hard Copy permission note will be handed out on Monday).

YMCA Update

Our latest newsletter is included in this bulletin. We would like to inform you that we will not be operating our Adventure Squad Holiday Care program from Sutton Primary school for these April School Holidays.

With Easter and the Anzac Day public holidays it only leaves seven days of care over the two week break, so a lot of families decide not to access formal holiday care arrangements, so numbers are lower. Due to these circumstances and others the YMCA Management team have decided to operate five Vacation Care sites these April School Holidays only.

Information about these other holiday care options have been available for families at the information area at the OSHC program and by asking educators at the program, or they can look on the YMCA website.
