Book Week and Education Week 2020

Book week / Education Week

What an amazing effort students and teachers put into our Book Week and Education Week celebrations.

Monsters, curious creatures and a celebration of books was the theme for the week.

Without our wonderful parents and community being able to join us, students took things virtual to express and share their creatures. Did you see the slide show for your child’s class?  Links were sent out via Skoolbag to K-2 classes and Google classroom for Stage 2.  Stage 3 created the videos you were shared with the school.

Across all classes students shared experiences of creating a curious creature in line with the theme of the celebration. Using different ways to express themselves across the school.

What amazing and talented students we have here at Lavington East Public School.

Stage 3 - Curious Creatures

Hands On Learning

MAPPEN - 1/2B had a wonderful time creating a shadow puppet theatre and their own puppets to tell a picture book story. It was exciting to see the smiles and support they showed for each other whilst designing and creating their theatre and puppets but also to each other as an audience. It has been a fun filled term! Thanks 1/2B. Miss Kellow

MAPPEN - K6A have been engrossed with the wonders of science this term and have developed a sense of wonderment about states of matter, air resistance, kinetic energy, displacement, friction and density. Well done K6A and looking forward to the adventures we will have in Term 4. Miss Kellow and Miss Trevaskis

Kindergarten Enrolment 2021.

We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten 2021.  If you have a child that is eligible to commence school in 2021, or know of anyone who has, could you please come to the school and provide your details.
How to enrol

Contact us when you are ready to enrol your child in our school. You will need to attend an interview with the Principal. There you can discuss any medical conditions or other special circumstances before your child starts school. We may also complete a risk assessment on the enrolment.

For more information, visit primary school enrolment.

Apply online

Our new online enrolment process makes it easier and faster to enrol your child at your local school.

To apply online, you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident

  • live in the local enrolment area of this school.

Apply for enrolment online

If you are not eligible to use the online form or prefer not to, you can download an application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB).

The application form must be completed in English. However, a translated application to enrol may help you to fill out the form in English.

Out-of-area enrolments

As outlined in the Department’s enrolment policy, our school may accept enrolments from outside our local enrolment area if places are available.

We will assess applications for non-local enrolment on a case-by-case basis.

Parents and Carers, PLEASE CONTINUE to remain off site

All parents and carers need to continue to wait outside the gate for drop off and pick up.

Should you need to come into the school, please go directly to the front office.

Please note, we can only have  TWO PEOPLE at a time in the school foyer for social distancing reasons - these protocols are in place to keep everyone safe and we appreciate your support.
