Eastlakes Edition

Term 3 Week 10

Acknowledgement to Country

On behalf of the students, teachers and parents of Eastlakes Public School, we would like to pay our respects and acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, past, present and future who have the first connection to this land.

We are thankful for the Gadigal and Kameygal clans for taking care of the land, sky and waterways on which we learn and play today.

Together we will rise to the challenge and be respectful andresponsible to care for our country.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land

From the Principal

How quickly Term 3 has flown by! It has been a very full term with student successes in academic, sporting, and creative activities. Term 3 has also seen families back into the school for various events which has been fantastic!

Thank you to teachers and office staff who have faced staffing challenges throughout the term and banded together to support each other ensuring a continuity of learning for all our students.

I hope that all our students, staff and families have a safe, restful and enjoyable break.

School resumes for all students on Monday 10th of October.

1KB News

1KB have been working on the reading comprehension strategy called “sketch to stretch”.

Students visualise a passage of text and then interpret it through drawing. The students ideas, interpretations of texts and drawings have improved dramatically and most importantly their understanding of the texts they are engaging with. Here are some of the many wonderful drawings that the students have produced.
