St Mary's Day 2019 was a great success! We started the day with Mass (led by the staff), which gave us the opportunity to give thanks for this wonderful school community we are all a part of. Then the children were split into groups for a range of activities which included playing old fashioned games, learning about the school song, looking at old uniforms of the school, looking at the school crest and doing a quiz around the school grounds. The children loved their sausage sizzle lunch which was cooked by the RE Ministry who were ably assisted by Maureen Wilson and Jonathon Robartson! Thank you to all the staff for organising the activities for the day and a big thank you to Mrs Herbert who coordinated the whole day meticulously!
Thank you to the P&F for donating the “George the Farmer” series of books. This is a great series that depicts all the nuances of living in a farming community. “George the Farmer” will be housed in the library.
A big thank you to Lisa O’Neill and Jasmine Holmes for coordinating a successful St Mary’s Footy Tipping for 2019! It was certainly a close competition until the very end! Congratulations to the winner Sandgroper 63 and runner-up Brendan Smith.
Thank you so much to Brendan Bartlett for organising and building the quiet nook bench in the Early Learning Area – this is a fabulous addition to the outdoor space and gives the children the opportunity to retreat to a quiet, comfortable space to read, draw or just be!
