UNIFORMS

Balmain Public School children are expected to wear full school uniform, including a school hat, every day. All children are required to wear full school uniform when representing the school on excursions, at sporting events or at cultural activities.

HAVE YOU ENROLLED YOUR SIBLING YET?

As per current DoE advice: Masks are an effective way of minimising the transmission of respiratory viruses and infections, and protecting our community, especially those who are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and flu. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE all students and staff wear a mask, particularly in indoor settings or when distancing is not possible. Your consideration is much appreciated.

From the Principal's Desk...

We are always so grateful to our P&C, who support our students, student voice and our wonderful school! This week saw the delivery of 2 Veggie Patch garden beds, with the big reveal happening at Friday morning assembly. Our Environmental Warriors are on a quest to restore Ms Pauline's Garden to its former glory, as well as creating a teaching-learning space for us all. In the meantime, the P&C generously subsidised the cost of these garden beds in the interim, so that the Warriors can commence some seasonal gardening! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! #bestpandcever

Let's do it for the kids!

Fundraising...thanks so much for your support!

PRIMARILY FUN!

***SKOOLBAG IS OUR MAIN FORM OF COMMUNICATING WITH YOU***In case of urgent/important communication, notifications via the Skoolbag app on your phone will keep you informed***

To ensure you receive all communication via SkoolBag, please have the app downloaded on your phone, with the notifications turned ON.

Although the school pushes out notifications via the app and email, there may be times when an important message may be missed as emails may sometimes not be checked regularly.

If there were to be an emergency, (hopefully not), information would be pushed out via SkoolBag.

Spotlight on...

1/2 JELLYFISH!!!!

Welcome to a snapshot of the 1/2 Jellyfish classroom!

Investigations: Over the last few days, we have been writers imagining adventure stories and scientists developing information reports. The Jellyfish engineers have been hard at work designing and building new forms of moving transport during our weekly Investigations session.

English: Yesterday, the Jellyfish classroom was startled by a surprise visitor! Our new friend ‘Claws’, a Blue Tongue lizard, lives at Jellyfish families’ house. Claw’s visit started conversations, and our imaginations began to run wild. We daydreamed about all the mysterious places a Blue Tongue Lizard might visit. We learned many interesting facts about Blue Tongue lizards and started drafting our information reports.

Music: In music, 1/2J are learning to read and compose music! In groups of two, we created our compositions and performed them for the class.

PDHPE: This term, we've been participating in a structured gymnastics program. We learn about balance, muscle endurance, flexibility, strength and power!
