St Pat's News

August 21, 2019

At St Patrick’s Parish Primary School we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school.

From The RE Leader - Peter Sanderson

Make Peace Happen

Every language has a word for peace. Shalom. Salaam. Pax. What is my best word for peace?

God, give me peace, help me to accept it and

then perhaps I will find the correct word.

Help me to make peace happen today.

It doesn’t just happen. I have to make it happen.

It is like love.

We have to make love…make love happen.

It is the same with peace.

How can we make peace happen today?

- John Martin CSsR

First Eucharist

Congratulations to our First Communicants and their families after their big day on Sunday. These children are now fully initiated into the Catholic Faith and we pray that they will continue to grow as disciples of Jesus.

Mini Vinnies

Our Mini Vinnies group met last week to discuss plans for the remainder of the year. These plans include renewing the cut-out figures on the Union Street fence, leading the school in supporting Catholic Mission’s Socktober project during the month of October and visiting the residents at Moyneyana House.

New Prayer Tablecloths

Each classroom has a prayer table which serves as a focus for students as they pray each day. These tables are dressed in the colours of the liturgical season. Recently, Beth Conlan made new tablecloths for our prayer tables. We would like to thank Beth very much for the great job she did.

From The Principal - Sue Paulka

Dear Parents, Parishioners, Carers, Staff & Students,

No Parking at the School Crossing

In an effort to improve child safety in and around the school crossing, the Moyne Shire has erected a number of "No Standing" signs near the crossing, which means no parking is permitted in the area between the signs. Please be mindful of this when dropping off and picking up your children so that you are not fined.

The office is open from 8.30am - 4.00pm each day.

There is no supervision for students before 8.40am. Teachers use the time prior to the doors opening for setting up for the day, therefore they are not available to supervise students. Students who arrive at school prior to 8.40am need to wait at the side door near the hall until the doors are opened.

The bell for the start of the day rings at 8.55am, any student arriving after this time needs to be signed in using the iPad at the office.

The bell for the end of the day rings at 3.20pm. If for any reason you are going to be later than 3.30pm to collect your child/children, please contact the school office.
