Principal News

Welcome Back

We've had a lovely start to term this week. It was heartwarming to watch the students laughing and playing on day one, excited to reunite with one another.

We were happy to welcome Kristie and Kerry to our staff this week! Kristie will be teaching in the 4/5/6 for the remainder of the year from Monday through Wednesday. Coming from a special development school background, she has a wealth of skills and knowledge that she brings to the classroom.

We're also fortunate to welcome Kerry to the school as our new Japanese teacher! Konnichiwa! Her first teaching day was on Wednesday and she and the students had an absolute ball! STEM with Chan, has now moved to a Friday morning.

We've had some exciting news over the holidays as well, successfully receiving two grants from the FRRR, coming to a total of around $40,000. This money will go towards upgrading and replacing equipment in the Music Room and replacing the junior playground near the basketball court.

To assist with the installation of the new playground, we encourage all families to join us on the Working Bee on Sunday August 18th and join us for a BBQ that afternoon.

It was so lovely to have so many family members, pets and smiling faces at this morning's Echidna Council Pet Day. I am so proud of the organisational skills that the Echidna Council showed, and I'm so thankful to those who put in the effort to make the morning such a great success. Well done to the winners, Isla and Annie the Dog (the smartest), Tom and Killa the chicken (and her fertile eggs) (the youngest), Lilah and Teddy (the cutest), Ivy and Mango(the oldest at 14 years and 10 months), Amira and Franklin (the smallest), Olive and RainbowDash (the biggest), the Ernest-Tamblyn's and Gypsy (the best dressed), and Tom and Miley (the most unique)

The School Council are meeting next on Thursday August 1st. We're still looking for an additional member. If you're interested, please see a standing member, Mel Bartlett or myself.

Special Mentions

While we had a lot of special visitors this morning at school, bringing pets to a new environment can be difficult and we had a range of animals that couldn't make it this morning.

I was fortunate to received some very special pictures from students that wanted to share their precious pets with you all though. Enjoy Here you'll see Jack and his beloved ducks and Charlotte's rats, Skittles and Pavlov, in their fancy dress outfits.
