Principal's Message

Dear Families,

I’ve had a great first 3 days as Acting Principal and I bet Tom is having an amazing time bike riding in Nepal. Over the next 3 weeks Paula MacMunn will be Acting Assistant Principal - Wellbeing. Paula and I will be working closely together and I know Paula will do a great job.  Renee Kent will step into Paula’s Learning Specialist role. Renee is an excellent addition to our leadership team and with the support of Dean Renee will do an amazing job.

School to Summit

Jen Driessen has been working really hard to allow us to have S2S trips this term.  There are a lot of factors that need to be considered this year and weather and the safety of the students is playing a major part in our planning and decision making. We’re committed to giving each year level their S2S excursion and/or overnight camp this term. The Year 4 camp has been postponed until week 9 but we’re hoping everything else will go ahead as planned.  My favourite part of the S2S program is watching all our kids line up either side of the road and high 5 the Year 6’s as they ride out the school gate. I promise myself each year I won’t cry, and each year when Amanda passes me the tissues I tell myself this is why I love this job and this school.

2023 Prep Transition

Yes, it’s that time of the year again! Tuesday was the first transition day for our wonderful 2023 Preps. It was so exciting to welcome all their smiling faces into our school. Thank you to our School Captains and Prep teachers for making the morning such a success. We have 3 more transition sessions to go between now and the end of the year.

World Teachers’ Day

Friday is World Teachers' Day.  I would like to thank our wonderful teachers for all their passion, creativity, care and professionalism.  The students and staff are what make Mansfield Primary School such a great place. Thank you!

Like always, please get in touch with us with any questions or concerns.  Call or email your classroom teacher, call the front office or email me Nicole.comerford@edcation.vic.gov.au

Have a great weekend.

Take Care,

Nicole Salmon (Comerford)
