Coronavirus

As you would be well aware the news around Coronavirus is changing daily. We will continue to keep you updated when we are alerted to any changes relevant  for schools.

We are being vigilant with personal and school hygiene practices e.g washing hands, cleaning surfaces. We will continue to follow advice from Catholic Education Melbourne, Department of Education, Health Department and State and Federal Governments.

PLEASE CHECK SKOOLBAG FOR POSTS HELPING PARENTS  SUPPORT CHILDREN THAT WERE POSTED THROUGHOUT THE WEEK.

Continuity of Learning

In the event that schools experience long term closure, we are currently preparing our school laptops or iPads to be used at home for educational purposes.

Teachers have already started to  plan online work in preparation for possible closure. In the event of a school closure children would be expected to complete tasks as if in school.

Next week we plan to ensure the children know how to access all the areas e.g Hapara, Google Classroom, Zoom, Google Docs and the School Portal from home. The children are already familiar with this portal as it  includes a range of online programs they currently access.

Devices will only be sent IF schools are closed. This is to enable all children in a family to be able to complete all online tasks set.

Before we are able to send technology home, we require signatures from parents in regards to both care and use of technology.

A more detailed letter including letters to sign, expectations of learning will be sent home early next week.

.

Many hands make light work.

Thank you to all the families who were able to help clean tables, door handles and surfaces last weekend. We are very fortunate that our classrooms, learning spaces and grounds provide well above the recommended Social Distancing guidelines. Staff are supporting children to be vigilant with healthy hygiene practices.

Onesies & Animal Costumes

Our Production for 2020 is Go Noah. We are starting the ball rolling by already putting out requests for anyone that may have animal costumes ( e.g onesie) . They can be 'traditional' animals on the ark or a more 'Australian flavour', We may even have some keen sewers who can design/make costumes. A variety of sizes would be fantastic.

We will also be looking for volunteers to help the children create the background scenes/props.Please let the office know if you can assist.

Date to be confirmed ( final weeks Term 3).

WILL BE DEPENDENT OF CROWD REGULATIONS AND SCHOOL CLOSURE STATUS
