Sydney Sixers
Yesterday our school had the pleasure of a visit from Maitlan Brown and Kurtis Patterson from the Sydney Sixers Cricket teams. Maitlan Brown was a student at our school and was proudly taught in Year 6 by Mr McWhirter. She was very excited to come back and talk with the students, sharing her memories and journey and answering many great questions. Their message of following your dreams, never giving up and not being afraid of trying, making mistakes and learning from them, was inspiring.
The Importance of Arriving On Time
Arriving at school and class on time:
· Ensures that students do not miss out on important learning activities scheduled early in the day
· Helps students learn the importance of punctuality and routine
· Give students time to greet their friends before class
· Reduces classroom disruption. Lateness is recorded as a partial absence and must be explained by parents.
Kanga Cricket
A selection of students from years 3-6 will be attending the Kanga Cricket Gala Day at Central Park in Wingham on Friday 2 September. It is a modified version of cricket with 6-8 players per team. Students that have been selected need to wear their school uniform including school hat.
Touch Football
The mixed touch football teams will be playing in the Manning Zone PSSA Touch Football Gala Day on Wednesday 7 September. The event is being held at Taree Rec Grounds and students are asked to organise their own transport to the grounds. Mrs Muller will be at the grounds with the students.
