Swimming Lessons

The students in Year Three and Four have enjoyed going to swimming lessons this week, in what has been perfect swimming weather.  Next week, will see our Year Five and Six students have their lessons.

Family Friday

Unfortunately, due to the high case load protocols, Family Friday will be cancelled for Term One.  In acknowledging that you can’t come to us, we will be bringing Family Friday to you!  Keep an eye out on the school socials to see what we have been up to in our classrooms!

Music Tutor

Mr Sam Macdonald provides music tuition for St Mary's School students on Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings. Our students have the opportunity to learn piano, guitar and flute. If you would like your child to receive music tuition please contact Sam directly on 0401 259 181 or macdonsp@yahoo.com.au.

Parent-Teacher Communication

At the start of the new school year, it is important that teachers and parents establish a relationship with each other, by sharing information about their child, understanding how the classroom operates, etc.  Unfortunately, the current high caseload protocols for schools, prevent this occurring face to face.  Parents are able to come onto the school grounds to drop and pick up their child/children only.  With this being the case, parents should not be engaging with teachers in the morning or afternoon even for a ‘quick question’.  Quick questions/comments can be delivered through diaries, communication books or email.  Anything that is more involved or sensitive in nature should be addressed via telephone or online via TEAMS.  The staff at St Mary’s School value the relations that they build with families and always go above and beyond for the students in their care and this has not changed despite the current health climate.

COVID19 Update

The safety and wellbeing of all students and staff is our highest priority and as WA is now considered to be in a high caseload setting we need to remain vigilant and monitor for symptoms. If your child is unwell they should not attend school and if anyone in your household displays any of the COVID-19 symptoms they should seek testing immediately, notify us and isolate until a negative result is received. Please notify us immediately of a positive test result and note any communications which result will maintain identity confidentiality. Parents of students who come to school unwell or who present as unwell during the day, will be contacted and asked to come and collect their child.  Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to keeping our community safe.

Roadworks

A letter was emailed out to all St Mary’s families early today about the changed traffic conditions that will be in effect outside St Mary’s from Monday onwards.  Please ensure that you read and familiarise yourself with the letter.

God Bless and have a lovely weekend with your families.
