Welcome back to Term 4! We expect this term to be busy with our plans for the end of year events already underway. I will keep you up to date each week here in the newsletter as we announce details regarding upcoming events.
The Skoolbag app has a really easy to view Calendar tab at the bottom of the screen where you can view events by month. You can click on the individual events to view further information, permission notes or links. We hope using this Skoolbag feature will help streamline information and make it easy for parents to see what is coming up and plan ahead.
Communication
Being responsive to communication is very important to me and at times it can involve some juggling with so many modes of communication - our School Facebook page, Class Dojo, Skoolbag, school and individual email accounts as well as phone calls via the office.
If your message is urgent and needs a response before the end of the school day, please call the office to ensure the message is passed on as I am often teaching throughout the day, especially if the message is a time sensitive one. If you have messages about changes to going home arrangements to be communicated to your child, please call the office so we can ensure your child and their class teacher is informed.
If you are contacting me for non urgent matters and events to be promoted to our school community, please email me jennifer.arnott3@det.nsw.edu.au and I will get back to you as soon as possible, sometimes this will be after the school day has ended or the next school day.
Industrial Action
The NSW Teachers Federation are planning events on Wednesday which will NOT impact our operation of the school or the teaching and learning for our students. All NSW schools will operate as normal.
School Crossing Supervisor Update
I can now confirm the children’s crossing at the front of the school will be controlled by a school crossing supervisor starting this Thursday 13th October. I would like to welcome Bruce Latham as the new crossing supervisor. Please say hello when you see him and join me in welcoming him into the role.
When you see Bruce holding a ‘Stop – children crossing’ sign, you must slow down and stop.
You must remain at a complete stop until:
- all pedestrians have left the crossing, and
- the school crossing supervisor is no longer showing the sign.
Tell Them From Me Survey
We need your help! Could you please complete the Tell Them From Me Survey. This information helps us identify areas for improvement and make decisions about our future directions.
