HEALTH TIPS

Body Image

Body Image - Tips for helping your child have a healthy body weight and a healthy body image

·         Be a positive role model and encourage healthy eating and physical activity, by providing healthy meals and snacks and getting active.

·         Organise fun, family activities which encourage everyone to be active.

·         Help children to see ‘treat’ foods, such as lollies, biscuits, chips, cakes and ice cream, as food which should be eaten only occasionally – not every day.

·         Help your children to understand that there is no such thing as an ideal body shape and that ‘healthy’ people come in many shapes and sizes.

·         Help your children feel special about themselves. Provide rewards and treats which are not food.

·         Teach children that a person’s value is not determined by how they look.

·         Avoid making comments about body weight. Focus on growth, not on scales.

·         Don’t focus on weight and food restriction – focus on improved health, fitness and having fun.

RAWLINSON UNIFORMS

Uniform Shop

Kindy Orientation, Uniform shop Open

This year's Kindy orientation is Thursday 24th November. (6 weeks away!).

To have the shop open, volunteers are needed.  We generally need 7 helpers, this allows us to keep the wait times down, you can volunteer for either of the session times.

I realise we are a little out of the habit of doing the open days, but this is a great way to meet other parents at the same time as helping the P&C and school.

The  Uniform Shop is proposed to be open from approximately 12-1pm, then open 2.00-3.15pm (up to 3:30pm), either side of the presentation.  Times to be confirmed.

If you are able or interested in helping please email me at rawlinson.uniforms@gmail.com or add your name to the volunteer signup sheet in the office.

Uniform Shop Closure for 2022 and reopening for 2023.

The uniform shop will be closing on the 24th November 2022.  Qkr! will be closed at the end of the day on the 24th and final deliveries will be made by the following Monday 28th. Paper orders will not be accepted from the 24th onwards.

Uniform shop will reopen for 2023 on Qkr! approximately 2 weeks before school starts.  The January open days are usually the week before back to school, dates and times to be confirmed.

Second hand items needed!

Currently we have limited second hand stock!

Lately I have not been able to fulfill all requests for second hand items.  So I would like to ask for families to donate your no longer needed, washed, clean uniform items so that we may be better able to fulfil these requests.  The Uniform Donations tub is in the undercover area near the canteen, or you could give them to the office for them to pass on to me.  We can even accept the not so nice, as those items get passed to the office for accident days.

Price Increases

When the Uniform shop opens in the new year, it will be with all new prices across the majority of items.  It will be implemented on close of business this year (November 24th) and we will open in 2023 with new prices across our range.

Indonesian Shadow Puppet Show

On Wednesday, students from year 3 to year 6 enjoyed a traditional Indonesian shadow puppet performance.  Wayang puppets perform behind a thin white screen to create intricate shadows for the audience.  The puppet master controls all the puppets and gives voices for each character.
