THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR C

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke

Jesus spoke the following parable to some people who prided themselves on being virtuous and despised everyone else, ‘Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one a Pharisee, the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood there and said this prayer to himself, “I thank you, God, that I am not grasping, unjust, adulterous like the rest of mankind, and particularly that I am not like this tax collector here. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes on all I get.” The tax collector stood some distance away, not daring even to raise his eyes to heaven; but he beat his breast and said, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner.” This man, I tell you, went home again at rights with God; the other did not. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the man who humbles himself will be exalted.’

Month of Mary

The month of October is traditionally the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary in the Catholic Church.

We encourage you to pray the Rosary during the month of October. The Rosary draws its mysteries from the New Testament and is centered on the great events of the Incarnation and Redemption with each decade referring to an event in the life of Jesus and Mary.

World Mission Month 2022

In October we celebrate World Mission Month, a month dedicated to the life-giving work of missionaries around the world.

This year, we walk hand-in-hand with the Church of Ethiopia and the local communities towards providing life-changing opportunities to those most in need. Catholic Mission are currently supporting a range of mission development programs in Ethiopia addressing malnutrition, the lack of access to education for young children, and the vulnerable position of women in society.

As a family you may wish to donate to Catholic Mission, you can do this by following the link below.

Parish Sacramental Program

The Parish has begun its preparations for First Holy Communion. We keep the children from our school and parish in our prayers as they prepare to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.
