PBL Value of the Week - Behaviour expectations at School Assemblies

These lessons aim at teaching students the behavioural expectations during weekly whole school assemblies and special/commemorative assemblies.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of Term 1. It has been wonderful to get back into school routines and operations and finally return to a sense of normalcy for staff and students. In saying this we have had many families and staff isolating due to COVID and taking time away from school due to colds and flu. We have cautiously welcomed parents back on site due to the large number of COVID cases circulating in the community. I am pleased to say that I think we reached our peak by week 9.  We still have families isolating and I am hopeful that after the break we will have everyone back at school.

Students return on Wednesday 27 April. The office will be unattended on the Staff Development Day, 26 April. Our administration staff will be completing their First Aid Training off site. Teachers will be engaging in professional learning offsite at the World Heritage listed Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. We will be participating in a cultural journey with Traditional Custodians and caretakers to deepen our knowledge of aboriginal culture and how we can embed aboriginal culture in our teaching and learning programs.

Students may return to school in their winter uniform. I am expecting all students to be in winter uniform by the beginning of week 3, 9 May.

NOOSH

We are continuing with our due diligence process to bring our NOOSH centre under the operation of the P&C banner to run like the Canteen and Uniform shop already do; it will have it’s own Sub-Committee and own constitution. This is a long work-in-progress project and we will keep you updated along the way. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to ask.

P&C Meeting

We have decided to move our P&C meetings to once a term (instead of twice) and this will be held in week 4 of each term; so our next scheduled meeting will be on Monday 16th May and will still be conducted via Zoom. If you would like a copy of the minutes taken (or others), please contact us: secretary@npspandc.com

The Welcome Night was an absolute blast! It was so good to meet all the new and continuing families in a social setting. Thank you to everyone who came along.

2. The Colour Run

This Friday, 8 April, pending the weather. We have approximately 6 more spaces for volunteers, so pop us an email to fundraising@npspandc.com if you would like a role in the event.

Over $16,800 raised to date. The fundraising is still open until 8 April. 3S is our leading fundraising class with an amazing $3,075. Our top fundraising student is Kara Chen from 6M, followed closely by Oliver Hadiardja from 3S, and then Johnny O’Donnell from K/1H. Well done team! We love your enthusiasm and school spirit!

Go to www.myprofilepage.com.au to create a profile and start fundraising. The platform is really fun and the kids create their own avatar and even get bonus coins for doing so. Once the Fun Run is complete your child will be able to order their PRIZES through the online platform too.

3. School Grounds Working Bee – Saturday 30 April, 9am-5pm

Come along and join the school community to give the grounds a spruce up. There will be a list of jobs to get done – which may include weeding, edging, mulch spreading, garden bed preparation – and a great team of people to get them done with. Lunch will be a sausage sizzle to fuel up. So come for the day, or a morning, or an afternoon. The more the merrier as we create some great progress for our children to enjoy.
