TOKSAVE - Lihir International School

Term 2, Week 3, 2020

From the Principal

Thanks to all the parents and carers for all their great work in assisting LIS students with learning at home. Although remote teaching can be difficult and sometimes frustrating, it has been encouraging to see the commitment of our parents and carers during this time. Some positives are the skills we have all learnt through navigating the new technologies we are employing in remote teaching and learning at LIS. Next week, we would like to feature some photos of our parents and carers assisting their children at home - please send in a pic!

Please note that although some PNG schools opened for a trial period from  Monday, it is expected that LIS will remain closed for the duration of Term 2, unless otherwise directed by Newcrest management.

It has been heartening to see so many students logging into our virtual assemblies. Please do not forget to join our assembly at 9am tomorrow. Click on the Meet link in the LIS Assembly classroom in Google Classroom and remember to mute your microphone.

Please contact myself or your child's teachers if you have any queries or concerns regarding your child's education at LIS.

From the Deputy Principal

It is great to see the photos being sent through showing students hard at work or doing some extra-curricular activities. We hope all families are enjoying the opportunity to spend some extra time together. It has also been good to hear of older siblings helping their younger brothers and sisters with their learning - well done.

This Sunday is Mother's Day and we wish all our Mums and Grandmas a lovely day.
