SCHOOL NEWS

NSW - Victoria Border Restrictions

The temporary closure of the NSW-Victoria border, which was implemented to contain the spread of COVID-19 from Victoria and to protect the health and wellbeing of NSW residents, remains in force. The border zone is defined as townships along the Murray River including Mildura, Wodonga and Echuca on the Victorian side.

Under the amended Public Health Order, any person who already has a valid day school visitor permit will continue to be able to use this permit for 14 days, until midnight on Friday 21 August. This permit will expire after Friday 21 August. It will be replaced with a special schools permit for children who attend special purpose schools. Any child or staff member in the Border Zone will be able to continue crossing the border to attend school or work as long as they stay within the Border Zone. The changes include:

  • Staff and students who reside within the border zone, on either side of the NSW-Victoria border, are permitted to cross the border to attend a school located in the border zone by obtaining a Border Zone Resident Permit.

  • Victorian residents who reside outside of the border zone will not be able to enter NSW to attend school unless they obtain an exemption.

Victorian residents who reside within the border zone but attend a school outside the border zone will not be permitted to cross the border without an exemption.

HSC students and HSC teachers who reside beyond the Victorian border zone can travel to NSW schools provided they have been granted an exemption.

All other Victorian staff and students who reside beyond the border zone will be supported to learn and work from home.

Students attending a School for Specific Purposes will be eligible for a special permit through the NSW Government website.

Visit the NSW Government website to apply for a border permit.

Peer Support

Week 4 - Peer Support

This week in Peer Support the children will discuss skills and how to communicate their feelings and needs to others.  The children will discuss skills they use when participating in a variety of activities.  When children understand they already have many of the skills needed to succeed, they can feel more confident when trying something new.  The children are asked to identify events which trigger different feelings.  Encourage your child to remember the skills they have used in one activity when trying something new.  Also encourage your child to communicate their feelings and needs.

Peer Support Week 3 Focus - students worked in their Peer Support group to learn about the personal qualities needed when experiencing a challenging situation. Students enjoyed learning about being kind, patient, responsible, enthusiastic, helpful and confident.

School Photos are almost here

School Photo Day is only two weeks away.  We have been advised by the School Photographer that you can still use your original envelope that was sent home earlier in the year.  If you no longer have your original envelope, please contact the office for a new one.  For all families wishing to purchase photos, you can pay directly to THE PHOTOGRAPHER on their website, or return correct money in the envelope on the day of photos, Tuesday 25 August.   PLEASE DO NOT PAY THROUGH POP TO THE SCHOOL  - the photographers are a third party provider and the money is not to come through the School account.  Thank you.

Kindergarten Enrolment 2021.

We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten 2021.  If you have a child that is eligible to commence school in 2021, or know of anyone who has, could you please come to the school and provide your details.
How to enrol

Contact us when you are ready to enrol your child in our school. You will need to attend an interview with the Principal. There you can discuss any medical conditions or other special circumstances before your child starts school. We may also complete a risk assessment on the enrolment.

For more information, visit primary school enrolment.

Apply online

Our new online enrolment process makes it easier and faster to enrol your child at your local school.

To apply online, you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident

  • live in the local enrolment area of this school.

Apply for enrolment online

If you are not eligible to use the online form or prefer not to, you can download an application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB).

The application form must be completed in English. However, a translated application to enrol may help you to fill out the form in English.

Out-of-area enrolments

As outlined in the Department’s enrolment policy, our school may accept enrolments from outside our local enrolment area if places are available.

We will assess applications for non-local enrolment on a case-by-case basis.

Canteen is open every WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY and FRIDAY

Parents and Carers, PLEASE CONTINUE to remain off site

All parents and carers need to continue to wait outside the gate for drop off and pick up.

Should you need to come into the school, please go directly to the front office.
