From the Principal

Thank you so much for a wonderful 3 week period here at Peachester! I have loved getting to know students and families. This week the staff have been busy planning units for next term. As Term 3 progresses, ask your child about what they are learning about in English, and pop into the classroom to view their learning walls as they evolve. Students will have success criteria and this enables them to know what they're learning about and what their next step is. Exciting times here at Peachester. We had Mrs Fillery pop in and say hi to us at PJ day to ensure continuity and so students know what's happening next term with their Principal. Enjoy your break and we look forward to a wonderful Term 3.

Prep News

What a great term 2 the Prep class have had!

They are working so hard and are doing a great job using all the sounds we have learnt to blend and sound out words. Their reading and writing skills are developing fabulously!

In our language unit for Term 2 the students had to retell a story to the class using pictures and simple sentences they had written. The Preps did a great job of this and were very proud of the story books they made about Mrs -Wishy-Washy.

We look forward to seeing their continued development next term, and after all their hard work they deserve a well-earned rest over the holidays!

The Rainbow Drawing Lesson

The Rainbow Fish
By Marcus Pfister

For our assessment, we need to be able to write about how the main character of the Rainbow Fish story changes during the story.  We need to match our description up with an illustration so we did a You Tube lesson on how to draw the Rainbow Fish.

Art Project

Year 2/3 had lots of fun last week making our art projects!

We gathered materials and objects from around the school like sticks, leaves, pinecones and bits of rubbish. We then pressed our objects into clay to make a mould before filling our moulds with plaster. It was very cool to see all of the patterns and textures we had made!

Year 5/6 News

Good job to all the year 5/6 girls who participated in inter school netball. Unfortunately, we lost all of our games but we tied 2 games. We all played amazing and had heaps of fun together as a team.

A very big thanks to Miss Rose and Mrs Holznagel for their huge efforts in organising our teams across the 3 days. Thank you to Mrs Potter and Mrs Walter for transporting our amazing team. Thank you also to the parents who were able to drop by the fields and support the girls.

Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to Stanley for winning the athletics carnival. Thank you to Glass House State School for holding our athletics carnival at their school. P&C Contribution – June 2022

Thank you to everyone who has supported our P&C during Term 2 – especially all the amazing tuckshop volunteers that help out Jess and Carly every week. Without all these volunteers our tuckshop would not be able to operate.  A new roster will be going up shortly for Term 3 volunteers – if you have a spare few hours one Tuesday morning, please pop your name down!

Next Term is a busy one! We have our Trivia Night booked for Friday 12th August – Battle of the Decades! This is always a fantastic evening so grab a group of friends and book a table – or if you’d like to join another table, please see Krysty Idle who will sort this for you.

Early next Term we will also be running our annual Pie Drive – orders forms will be distributed during Week 1. And finally we will finish the Term off with our Father’s Day Stall!

All funds raised by the P&C are contributed directly back into the school and fund programs such as the SAKG, Robotics, reading books, playground equipment and much more! If you have any ideas / thoughts on how you’d like our P&C funds to be distributed OR if you have new fundraising ideas we would love to hear from you. You can speak to one of our executive members directly (Carrie, Cathy, Krysty, Karen, Megan) or you can complete the survey saved on Skool Bag.
