RICHMOND CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

TIDINGS - Term 1 Week 10 . 2022

There is Hope!

Dear RCC Community,

Thank you for all the support and love that you have shown toward not just RCC but the greater community during this term. It continues to be a blessing to be part of this place.

What a term and what a week to finish! It has been a blessing to watch our students point us to the goodness of God this week in the Easter Alive chapels.

It was a privilege to encourage our students to remember that even in times of difficulty, discomfort and despair that there is hope.

I firmly believe that hope is at its strongest when faith is at its strongest. Real hope is when you know someone greater than you so well that you trust you will overcome the difficulty or disaster because they are with you, even though you don’t see it yet.

For me, choosing to hope in God’s love, power and grace is like turning on a light switch in the darkness. Choosing hope illuminates the truth and stops me resting in darkness and despair which can so easily overwhelm.

It is my prayer for our community that we know hope anew over this Easter break and we can turn the light on for our friends, families and community that inspires us all to continue.

Enjoy reflecting in this week’s Tidings all that God has blessed us with.

He is Risen,

Jonno

Let's Do Lunch at RCC

Let's Do Lunch is on every day in the library for students in K-6. Let's Do Lunch provides students an opportunity to play in a small group environment, away from the playground. It was started to support students to develop social connections, and to learn and develop their social skills through safe and supported play. Research tells us that this will positively impact, not just the social development, but the emotional and cognitive health of the child.

All students are welcome to come to the Library at lunch time and play with a variety of different activities over the week. Some of the activities we have been doing over the last week have been: making marble runs,  ZOOB construction, drawing and lots of different board games.

We have had a lot of fun working together making "roads" for our BeeBots to drive through.
