Term 2 Weeks 4 and 5

Principal’s Message

It's been a busy few weeks at Dudley Public School. KJ led our Mother's Day assembly, celebrating the wonderful mothers in our community and all the things they bring to our school and children. Our girls and boys Paul Kelly Cup teams joined the Senior Knights Knockout and netball girls progressing to the next round of competition. All students represented our school with great sportsmanship. Thank you to Mr Kiely, Mr Horadam and Mrs Sullivan who coached those teams, they are a part of a dedicated staff that ensures our students achieve at the highest levels both in sporting and academic areas. It really is a team effort to ensure that things at school run smoothly and students have opportunities to try new activities.

Lower Playground

As part of a community project, we are working to fix the problems with the bottom playground. We are very grateful to have resources, staff and materials donated to Dudley P.S to upgrade the playground and make it safe for students to use again.

FROM THE LIBRARY

The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) is well underway! So far, over 90 students have begun logging on and entering their reading logs online. Well Done! Of these, 13 students have completed the challenge.

Congratulations to: Arlo G, Sylvie C, Henrietta M, Phoebe J, Isabella C, Abel G, William R, Zahlee T, Mia R, Lochie O, Rose M, Eloise C & Eli J!

Don’t forget, if you are in K-2, you will be reading 10 PRC titles in class, which will be added to your online log. This means that all students at Dudley are only required to read a total of 20 books for successful completion of the PRC.

Please make sure you enter and complete the PRC – it’s a guaranteed way to earn yourself 2 School Merit Awards, and discover some great PRC titles which are all colour coded for easy access to each level. School Merit Awards are given after the first 10 books are read, and the second after the next 10.

Reminders:

The PRC  closes Friday 30 August 2019.

Entering your books online is easy - go to the Premier's Reading Challenge website and logon using you DET username and password ( same one you use in the computer room).

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

Happy Reading, Miss Reed
