Welcome Back to Term 4
A warm welcome to everyone for the beginning of what is set to be a busy Term 4. The students have settled well upon returning to school this week and we are looking forward to a productive and positive term ahead. Term 4 always tends to be a busy term in relation to learning and assessments, reports, extra curricular activities, sport, transition and orientation activities, whole school events and the end of year event schedule, including presentation day. With this in mind I would take this opportunity to remind everyone that a steady and consistent approach to the term will be required to keep everything in check and ensure we are all in good shape for the end of the 2022 school year.
Additional Staff Development Day – Monday 19 December, 2022
As we near the end of the year, I want to thank you for your ongoing support and notify you of a date change for the last day of Term 4 classes. Students will now finish school on Friday 16 December 2022. This is due to an additional School Development Day announced for staff across NSW public schools. School Development Days allow our staff to participate in professional learning that was put on hold due to COVID-19 staffing pressures and plan ahead for 2023 to ensure we meet the needs of our students. With this change, we ask that you arrange alternative care for your child on Monday 19 December.
Playground Works Update
Over the school holiday break we had NSW Schools Infrastructure and Assets complete phase one of the playground improvement works. The newly concreted area around our basketball court looks terrific and serves to provide more hard space for student play. These works are the first steps in a long-term process of addressing playground issues and further works will be designed and communicated in the near future.
Kindergarten Orientation 2023
Next week will see the first of three sessions to welcome our new Kindergarten students for 2023. The individual interviews took place last term and we are very excited to welcome the new students and their families to Dudley Public School.
Tell Them from Me Survey
The best way to inform school innovation and improvement is through authentic engagement with all stakeholders in the school community: students, staff and parents/carers. The Tell Theme From Me (TTFM) Survey is one way that we listen to what students, teachers and parents have to say and provide valuable insight for our school planning. The TTFM Survey is a complete evaluation system for measuring student engagement, wellbeing and classroom climate, and other factors known to affect learning outcomes. Information is captured from students in Years 4-12, parents/carers and teachers, to guide decision-making for school planning and ultimately increase student achievement. The link for our parent survey can be found here: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/dudleyps
The survey closes on Friday 4 November 2022.
Creative Arts Day
We are excited to be holding our Creative Arts Day next Wednesday 19 October. Many thanks to the parents and friends who have volunteered on the day to come in and run the art workshops with students. We are so pleased to have parents and friends back in our school and are looking forward to seeing the amazing creations from the day. The school will be providing morning tea for our parent helpers and we ask that you bring along your own lunch. The day begins at 9am and will finish just before the bell at 3pm.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
Kind Regards,
Chad Tsakissiris
Principal
