Principal's Report

As we say goodbye to term 3, 2022 and hello to the Spring Break, I’d like to thank each and every one of our staff, students and community for the way in which you have gone about things during a very busy term. We have had some amazing experiences, including the Stage 3 excursion days to Glenworth Valley, along with the Book Parade and many other opportunities in sport and the creative and performing arts. Coupled in with this was a tremendous Fathers Day Stall, which was expertly organised and staffed by our amazing and hard-working P and C volunteers, who we thank for their efforts. Today, it was a great pleasure to be involved with our students during the end of term assembly. Congratulations to all who received awards. Well done! We hope that you continue to work hard and do your best. Finally, I’d like to wish everybody a happy and restful break; please take the opportunity to re-connect with your families and we look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday 10th October, to begin the final term of 2022.

Central Coast Dance Festival

This year we were fortunate enough to have all 3 Dance Groups selected to participate in the highly competitive Central Coast Dance Festival. After 9 months of lunch time practices and rehearsals, last week, our groups got to perform and showcase their talents at Laycock Street Theatre. Congratulations to all students involved. We loved seeing all those smiles on stage! You all performed beautifully and were wonderful ambassadors for our school. A further thank you to the parents and caregivers who supported us on the night in getting students there on time and watching us perform.A huge thank you to Mrs Mac, Mrs Turner, Mrs Westrup and Mrs Lees for continuing to provide our students with this wonderful opportunity and giving up your own time. Your dedication is valued by the parents, staff and students.Of course, none of this is possible without the support from volunteers. Each year, we always have a large group of teachers which volunteer their time to help out with the supervision and smooth running of the Dance Festival. Thank you, thank you, thank you.Thank you again for all your support and we look forward to performing our dances at other opportunities throughout the year.Mrs Norman

Infants dance

On Wednesday the 14th of September, the Infants Dance Group performed at the Central Coast Dance Festival which was held at Laycock Street Theatre. The Infants Dance Group has worked very hard over the past three terms and spent many of their lunch times practicing the dance.

Well done to all of the students involved!! A big thank you to all the families for making it happen and supporting Wyong PS in the audience.

Mrs Westrup & Mrs Lees

Junior Dance Group

Our Stage 2 Dance group performed on Tuesday 13th September. Mrs Norman and Mrs Turner are so proud of the effort and commitment each girl has shown over the past 9 months in rehearsals. You were all glowing on stage as 'Shook your Groove Things! Congratulations again on such a wonderful performance!

RSPCA Fundraising Day

Last Friday, the WPS Leadership Team organised and ran a fundraising day for the RSPCA. Students were so generous in their contributions to our money snake that it actually measured at a whopping 59.6m! The total money raised was $510.15. Throughout the break times, students had the opportunity to participate in many fun and free activities, all centred around animals. Sophia and Phoebe organised a dog breed guessing competition. Zack and Kaiden organised a "guess how many dog treats were in the jar" competition and Nathan and Jack ran a "match the teacher to their pet" competition. There were many winners on the day and some great prizes handed out. Thankyou to the generosity of our WPS families and staff.
