Congratulations to all of the students. It has been a very busy term!

Congratulations and thank you to the teachers. All of these events only happen when the teachers go above and beyond to support students and opportunities. I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to work with the fabulous educators we have here at Stockton Public School.

I trust that you will all have a wonderful holiday over the next 2 weeks. School returns Monday 10 October (Term 4 is the only term during the year that does not start with a Staff Development Day)

Have a wonderful holiday!

Staff news - Mrs Windred

Mrs Angela Windred has now gone on leave for Term 4. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Windred for all of her hard work on 5/6KW. Mr Ross Burke will be replacing Mrs Windred on 5/6KW. We look forward to Mrs Windred visiting us and letting us know of her new family member.

Staff news - Mrs Golsby and Mrs Sewell

Mrs Suzanne Golsby will be finishing on Friday so that she can take some leave. We will be sad to see Mrs Golsby leave our office, but know that it is an exciting time for her and her family.  Mrs Leanne Sewell will also continue on her leave all through 2023.

Dear Mrs Golsby and Mrs Sewell,

We have all enjoyed the laughs, the stories and all of the advice shared. Most of all the friendship. You are a big part of the fabric of our school and you will both be missed - not just by us but by our community, our parents and especially our kids. You are the front of house of our school and we are very lucky to have had such lovely people in our office. The hole you leave at Stockton is a true testament to your character. We have thought about cloning you two in the lead up, but have come to the conclusion that it just won't happen, the bar is too high. However we know you've both made the right decision - I call it “it’s your time in the sunshine”. It’s your turn to enjoy the spoils of your many years of service to public education. We know you'll be back - there’s canteen, reading groups, gardening groups and special school events - not just grandparents day- to keep you busy. We are all so much richer for knowing you both and truly blessed to have worked with you! We want to congratulate you both on making a difficult decision but one that you both deserve. Thank you for your dedication and service - it will be the benchmark for many years to come. We will miss you but look forward to seeing you around regularly. You know where we are - don’t be strangers!

Love from us all at SPS

Mrs Julie Chapman Mills joins us next term as our SAM (School Administration Manager) and Mrs Dionne Walsh will continue as our SAO (School Administration Officer). Mrs Jill Bell (School Administration Officer) will still be a familiar face.

We will organise a whole assembly for Mrs Sewell and Mrs Golsby closer to their retirement.

Muloobinbah Aboriginal Educational Education Group Make a Difference (MAD) Awards

Last week Mrs Scott and I were excited to attend the Muloobinbah Aboriginal Educational Education Group Make a Difference Awards. We nominated one Stockton Public Schools student and one past Stockton Public School Staff member.

Our student leadership award went to Kaydn in 56/B!

Kaydn is a great role model and a proud of advocate of his First Nation's heritage, and is actively involved with several school activities of which he is continuing to eagerly develop his own knowledge of his culture.

Our staff leadership award went to Danny Flaus.

Danny is dedicated to the sharing of knowledge culture and lore to promote the Aboriginal education for all students. His "big hearted", kind nature always persevered to go above and beyond to ensure students and teachers were supported to access Aboriginal perspectives

Congratulations to Kaydn and Danny!
