Newsletter Term 3 - Welcome Back

Message from Ms D'Aloia

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back!  I hope you have had a wonderful break.  Whilst it has been chilly and foggy there have been many sunny days to enjoy!

We are looking forward to reconnecting with students and families in Term 3.

COVID-19 Update

South Australia has continued to manage the spread of the virus.  As reported in the media it is important to continue being vigiliant and not to become complacent.

We are committed to maintaining a safe environment for all.

Parents and Carers are welcome to enter the school yard, however, it is important that ALL adults continue to follow the density and physical distancing requirements outlined by SA Health.  Please note that the following guidelines apply.

    • no more than 1 person per 2-square metres in an enclosed space
    • a minimum social distance of 1.5 metres between adults must be maintained.

Parents are also welcome in classrooms when needed however, to ensure the safety of all in our community it is requested that parents make appointments with class teachers by email or Seesaw to organize this.  Please note in the first two weeks of Term 3 priority will be given to parents of new students, Receptions and Preschoolers commencing at the beginning of this term.

These requirements apply to all areas of the school including the school office.  We appreciate your patience and co-operation.

Our capable and competent children have demonstrated that they can be independent and manage themselves well.  Please support them and help build their confidence by encouraging them to continue building on their achievements of Semester 1.

We also ask that you keep your child home if they are unwell as per SA Health guidelines, remember: we are all in this together! Everyone matters!

We need to all be in this together to achieve this!

With a grateful and hope filled heart we look forward to continuing our respectful partnership with you all.

God Bless,

Maria D'Aloia & St Joseph's Staff

Reconciliation Mass

We are hoping to proceed with Reconciliation being held during school time. The Reconciliation Mass will be a school Mass that all Year 3-6 students will attend, and it will be hosted by Fr Lancy. I invite all parents of Sacramental children to attend this ceremony on Wednesday the 29th of July at 9am here at St Joseph's in the Hall.

Fr will hear Reconciliation at the conclusion of the service and parents are invited to stay for this. Students will be presented to their peers at the end of the Mass and Reconciliation service.

Assemblies

Whole school assemblies will resume. Due to physical distancing requirements parents can not be accommodated inside the hall.  When the weather permits the hall doors will be open and parents can assemble in this area with a minimum social distance of 1.5 metres.  Priority will be given to parents of students hosting the Assembly.

Coffee Shop

The Coffee shop will open.  Parents will need to maintain social distancing.  Only one person, other than the canteen manager is able to be in the canteen, to ensure hygiene practices are maintained.

School Events

Learning Journey/Art Show/Cultural Day & Evening /Grandparents Day/Book Week are ALL on hold as the management of these events will need to be determined, ensuring all regulations are met.  More information to follow.
