St Andrew's Primary Marayong Newsletter

2019 Term 4 Week 6 Newsletter

Message from the Principal - Mrs Baird

The last few weeks have seen every one in NSW and Queensland in a heightened state of alert due to the fires that have raged across many areas.  All CEDP schools are closely monitoring the situation and at St Andrew’s we have enforced our extreme weather plan over the many poor quality air days.  If your child suffers from a respiratory condition, please inform the office of any additional medical care that your child may require in these difficult times.

On occasions, Asthma plans need to be revised to accommodate the severe changes to air quality. Please seek medical advice if you are concerned about your child’s health.

Please keep in your prayers the many firefighters who risk their lives everyday to protect us. May the Holy Spirit keep them safe.

Basketball Gala Day

This event was scheduled to take place last week but was postponed due to extreme weather conditions that occurred on the day. A new date has been set however, this date clashes with our own events.  The school has made the decision to pull out of this event.

Swimming Trials

This year a decision was made to hold this event during school time and have students wishing to trial for the squad bused to the swimming venue.  The trials were very successful and I have received very positive feedback from parents about the new arrangements. In the past, parents were required to transport the children to the venue after school hours to trial for the Zone squad.   With the positive response to holding this event during the day, next year we will endeavor to keep it the same.

A sincere thanks to Mr Paynter for coordinating this event and to Mrs Burke and Mr Haynes for running the trials.  I also wish to thank the many parents who supported the children and were fantastic time-keepers on the day.

Sports and Co Curricular Photo Day

Today saw the last day for our 2019 photos.  Our photos will be sent home in the coming weeks.

Whole School Assembly

All Parents and friends are invited to our whole school assembly on Friday starting at 2.15pm.  Year 6 will be showcasing their learning.
