HouseUpdate

From the Deputy Principal

Due to the various restrictions in place this term we have been re-arranging our Prizegiving and end of term events to ensure we can still acknowledge all student achievements and have some appropriate end of year assemblies in our School Hall.

Therefore, for the purposes of your diaries I was keen to publish some updates to our calendar for the last week of this term.

  • 9.30am - Year 12 Valedictory Assembly and Prizegiving
  • 11.30am – Year 7 Prizegiving
  • 1.45pm – Year 8 Prizegiving
  • 6.30-10.30pm – Year 12 Valedictory Dinner (Novotel Manly)

Tuesday 7 December 2021:

  • 9.30am – Year 9 Prizegiving
  • 11.30am – Year 10 Prizegiving
  • 1.45pm – Year 11 Prizegiving

Wednesday 8 December 2021 – last day of school for all K-12:

  • 9am – Kindergarten Prizegiving

  • 11.45am – Years 3 and 4 Prizegiving
  • 1.00pm - Year 5 Prizegiving

Students will have classes and activities on campus on each of the days through until the end of Wednesday 8 December. Therefore, Monday to Wednesday will have normal school attendance expectations. The previously broadcasted secondary prizegiving, scheduled for Thursday morning, will no longer take place due to the smaller events planned earlier in the week.

More details will follow regarding parental attendance and Covid protocols.

Year 10 Pastoral Program - Tomorrow Man/Woman Workshops

As part of Pittwater House’s Student Pastoral Program the Year 10 students will commence a series of two workshops from the Tomorrow Man  and Tomorrow Woman organisations this coming Friday 26 November, with the concluding workshop being in Week 2 2022 at the Yr11 Retreat. They are programs that we are very excited about involving our students in and hope that it assists in forming young men and young woman that can be confident and resilient in the world today.

The workshops explore important issues around reinventing the concepts of femininity and masculinity and look to provide the students with the skills to empower them to confidently express their needs and opinions in the moments that matter in the coming years.

We hope that the students find the workshops to be of great benefit to themselves as well as to the Year Group as a whole. Please get in touch if you have any queries about the program and I encourage you to discuss the content with your son or daughter after Friday’s workshop.

2022 Prefect Team Reminder

From the PHPA

PHPA Christmas Hamper Raffle

As we approach the end of a challenging year, the PHPA is looking forward to spreading some Christmas Cheer.

We are very excited to announce that we will be holding a Christmas Hamper Raffle to be drawn in Week 9.

Your Network Parents have been busy collecting a small donation from each family and the PHPA will be putting together some gorgeous hampers with a minimum value of $300 each for the lucky winners.

Unfortunately, we will not be having our usual end of year Carols where at the conclusion, Dr Hillier and the Prefect body ask for a monetary donation for their chosen charity.  As a result, the PHPA will donate 50% of all funds raised from the raffle towards the Prefect’s Charity of choice.  We will let you know who are the lucky recipients as soon as it is finalised.

Do not delay, buy your raffle tickets: here

Spoiler Alert - the more tickets you buy, the higher the chance of you going home with a Fabulous Christmas Hamper.

Every dollar raised by the PHPA through the Clothing Pool and fundraising events goes directly towards funding projects around our School that benefit ALL students.  The PHPA recently funded the purchase of HEPA filters for every room on Campus.  We are looking to fund a few more projects in line with the Masterplan and will let you know as soon as they are finalised.

Thank you all for your support.
