School Fees

Thank you to all the families who have met their school fee commitments. By now we ask that all levies to have been paid and that at least some contributions towards school fees have been made. We are happy to set up installment plans for families to assist in payment of fees. Please speak to Gail or AnneMaree if you are experiencing difficulties meeting the fee or levy expectations.

Soccer Round Robin

Our soccer teams headed off to Terrara Park on Monday, braving the cold and rain but they still had smiles on their faces as they worked together. Thanks to Anne Maree & Bridget who  provided the opportunity for children to mix with other local schools and challenge themselves to the skills needed in soccer. It is great to see how children support each other and how previous hidden talents emerge.

Division Cross Country

Congratulations boys on representing St Timothy's at the Division Cross Country.

Earn & Learn

Earn and Learn is back again at Woolworths but time is closing fast. We would like families who shop at Woolworths collect Earn & Learn Stickers and use the sheets provided. Please return to school or drop into the box at Brentford Square or Forest Hill. Please invite family members to assist in the collection of stickers. These stickers are then used/traded to purchase extra classroom resources for our children.

Unfortunately, wet, windy and cold weather this week has again delayed our 4 week Orienteering program for our Year 3-6 children. The children were disappointed but it will be rescheduled over next few weeks when we have some dry days forecast.

Learning & Teaching

Learning Intentions & Success Criteria

At St Timothy's we are focusing on implementing the use of Learning Intentions & Success Criteria. I make frequent visits to classrooms to ask the children the 5 questions about their learning. This approach along with our ongoing assessments and targeted teaching  focuses on children's specific needs and individual growth.

Five key questions for STUDENTS

  • What are you learning?
  • How are you going?
  • How do you know?
  • How can you improve?
  • Where do you go for help?

Inside the Classroom

Its been an exciting week of learning this week as we embrace additional learning technologies. The children created maps of the First Fleet passage and used Ozbots to track the journey using codes to mark the journey, stops and hazards along the way. Our new IPad Pros enabled our students to have eBooks from Inquisitive about Early Journeys to Australia' airdropped' to their personal device to complete reading and comprehension. New Apple TV's allowed teachers and children's work to be mirrored onto classroom whiteboards to present, share and  showcase learning. OSMO Genius kits were purchased and used for individual and group challenges

In addition throughout Literacy & Numeracy activity Learning Intentions & Success criteria were discussed to help children and teachers focus on what we were trying to teach and learn.

Every child participated in assessment tasks (delivered one to one or in a small group) to help target learning and individualise learning plans for all students.

We celebrated National Sorry Week, prepared for First Eucharist and built Rockets in STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).
