From The RE Leader - Peter Sanderson

Subsidiarity

Recognises that society is based on organisations or communities of people ranging from small groups or families right through to national and international institutions.  Subsidiarity affirms the right of individuals and social groups to make their own decisions about what affects them. A higher level community should not interfere in the life of a community at a lower level of social organisation unless it is to support and enable.

RE Dates for Term 2

Sacrament of Confirmation - Sunday 16th June 10:30am at St Patrick’s Church

From The Principal - Sue Paulka

Dear Parents, Parishioners, Carers, Staff & Students,

Confirmation   Congratulations to the children from our school and parish who are making their Confirmation this Sunday at the 10.30am mass. Thank you to their parents and families who have prepared them for this sacrament and to Peter Sanderson for his coordination.

Staffing   Tommy Greene will be taking long service leave for the last two weeks of term and Alex McCall will be replacing him in science classes.

Rachael Osborne is taking leave without pay until July 19.

Both Tommy and Rachael are heading overseas so we wish them safe travels.

Liam Murphy will be taking leave without pay for Terms 3 and 4. Clare Farley will be taking on Liam’s PE and Visual Arts classes.

Learning conversations / Mid-year reports   Please remember to book in via PAM for our learning conversations on June 24th and 25th.

P & F Trivia Night  Don’t forget our P & F Trivia Night to be held this Friday. This is always a fun night  and there are still a few tickets available for either individuals or tables of 8-10. Please don’t hesitate to get a ticket if you’d like to come but are concerned about coming on your own - we guarantee you will be placed on a table with other friendly people!

Winter Sports  Well done  to our football and netball teams who competed in the Moyne Winter Sports last Friday in Koroit.

Sincere thanks to our coaches and assistants, Shane Clancey, Tommy Greene, Annie Forrest, Antonia Balmer, Rachael Osborne, Michele Fox and Tom Sell. Our football team was undefeated and now go on to compete in the division level in Warrnambool this Friday.

Eisteddfod  Congratulations to Caitlin Barry and Pepper Bowes who competed in the Poem written by Competitor category yesterday at the Warrnambool Eisteddfod. Pepper placed first and Caitlin second - well done!

Assembly  Our student leaders have proposed that we hold assembly every fortnight rather than every week to allow more time for house group activities on the alternate week. After discussion at the School Advisory Council and Staff level, this suggestion will now be put into practice from the start of Term 3. Assembly will be held on even weeks (Weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) and house groups on odd weeks (Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9). The weekly newsletter will keep you up to date with these changes.

Kind regards,

Sue Paulka

Principal
