2023 Kindergarten Enrolments

We are now taking enrolments for kindergarten 2023. The kindergarten teachers are currently planning the Orientation and Information sessions, and these will be advertised very soon. If you know of families in our Caves Beach zone who have a child starting Kindergarten next year, please advise them to enrol online via our school website or contact our school office with the students details.

National Sorry Day Thursday May 26th and Reconciliation Week

Every May 26 in Australia, National Sorry Day reminds the nation to remember the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. A national apology was issued, especially for the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, their communities, and their country. This apology extended to the pain, suffering, and hurt of these Stolen Generations, their descendants, and for their families left behind.

Friday 27th June marks the start of Reconciliation Week. The National Reconciliation Week 2022 theme, “Be Brave. Make Change.” is a challenge to all Australians - individuals, families, and communities, to step up with brave actions in their daily life, where they live, work, play and socialise to help make change.

Over the coming week all classes will be completing activities and learning about these very important dates in our Australian calendar.

Pick Up

Thank you to all parents who are displaying their family name clearly for staff when using the pick up zone. If you have lost the signage, please contact the school office for another. When family names are visible for the staff the zone works very efficiently.

Our Art Club students have been learning various weaving techniques with wool. We spent many weeks creating colourful “God’s eye” weaving masterpieces.

It puts a smile on my face when I have the students bringing in ones they’ve made at home. They are enjoying it so much!

Our next project is to extend our newly learnt weaving skills to create some woven butterflies. Watch this space!
