COVID-19 Update

Dear parents/carers,

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this time. As the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold we are constantly getting new information and advice that we need to navigate and apply to our school.

The message we received from our Premier Gladys Berejiklian this morning is that parents should keep their children at home. Our school will remain open for those parents who work in our health system, education system, emergency services and other essential work places who are unable to access suitable supervision.

Children who stay at home will be able to keep up with school work through online work, with more information below.

If you are intending to keep your children at home please let the school know via email, phone call or Skoolbag app.

If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to contact our school.

This link will always contain the most up to date advice from the Department of Education relating to COVID-19.

Remote Learning Hub

To support students to complete their school work from home, our teachers have worked extremely hard to develop methods to both communicate with parents and set work online.

**The following information could be overwhelming for parents that now need to help their children learn at home. Make sure you take it at a pace that works for you and your family, and reach out to the school or your classroom teacher if you need any assistance.

Parent Communication

All classrooms have signed up to apps that will allow parents to easily communicate with teachers. The apps that our classrooms use can be downloaded on any device and can be accessed online.

K/1G - Seesaw

1/2D - Seesaw

3/4N - Class Dojo

5/6C - Class Dojo

If you have not received a login for these communication methods please contact the school and we will arrange for one to be sent out.

*Our teachers will be responding to messages between 8:30am to 3:30pm. As this type of communication and work delivery is new to our staff, I ask that you are patient and talk with our staff in a calm, patient manner.

Working Online

Our teachers will be communicating daily through their communication app what work will need to be completed online. The online platforms that students can complete their work on is as below:

K/1G - Seesaw

1/2D - Seesaw

3/4N - Google Classroom

5/6C - Google Classroom

Online delivery of lessons will be self-paced and in a manner that suits each individual family. Each day our teachers will post work to be completed throughout the day and it will be the responsibility of the parents and students to complete that work. Lessons will not be live-streamed. Students in 3-6 will be able to seek feedback on their work that has been submitted through Google Classroom, and parents will be able to seek clarification on any work by messaging their teacher through the set communication app.

Online Learning Platforms

Our school has subscribed to a variety of online learning platforms that you will be able to use when working remotely. These will be used in our online lessons. All students have been given logins. If you are unsure of your login, please contact your child's classroom teacher via their communication app.

Working Offline

If your child does not have access to a device, all work set will be able to be completed offline through traditional methods or via workbooks sent home to families. Families will be able to see what work will need to be completed by checking their parent communication app each morning. It will be the responsibility of the parent to assist the child in completing and checking the work set. Our offline workbooks will last until the end of Term 1, and the production of further offline resources will be re-evaluated at the end of Term 1.

Printed versions are available at the school or you can download K-2 workbooks below.

NSW School Updates App

The NSW School Updates app allows parents and carers to receive operational status updates for NSW public schools.

The app will complement the other means of communication available to parents and carers from schools and the Department of Education to ensure families receive timely, accurate information in a crisis.

The app is free and available now for iOS and Android users.

You can opt in for notifications about the operational status of as many NSW public schools as you choose.

New soil in the bell garden

Thank you so much to Cameron from CLN Landscaping and his family for replacing our soil in the bell garden. This garden will eventually be the home of Mrs Sansom's retirement plaque and tree that she was given. We will be finishing this garden once the school has resumed to normal operation.
