School photo day is scheduled for next Tuesday, 28th March. Please be advised the students are to wear full school summer uniform on the day. Thank you for returning the photo envelopes to your child’s teacher. A reminder, if you are requiring a sibling photo envelope, it can be picked up at the school office.
Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held from Tuesday 28th March to Tuesday 4th April. This is an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher and discuss your child’s progress and goals. Thank you Mr McDonald for leading and organising an amazing and unforgettable experience for Year 6 Camp. A highlight of the trip was travelling out to Mungo National Park. The Year 6 teachers, Miss Aalders and Miss Boyle with Mr Gadsden and Mr Corbineau, did a wonderful job caring for and organising the camp goers in their plethora of activities.
Thank you to so many Grandfriends that took the time to support the students on Monday morning during Grandfriends Day. It was a great turn out and the students proudly showed their Grandfriends around their classrooms and the school. Congratulations to the choir & band for your memorable performances. For so early in the year, our wonderful musicians are already very polished. Thank you to Ms Nathan, Miss Aalders and Mr Rix for leading them in this event.
Term 1 ends on Thursday 6th April. The students return Term 2 on Wednesday 26th April. Teachers will hold their Staff Development Day on Monday 24th April following ANZAC Day on 25th April. A service will be held at school on Thursday 6th April to commemorate ANZAC Day.
The Year 4 girls were excited to be invited and participate in a Science Day with Year 8 girls at Killara High School. They gained knowledge of basic science and chemical engineering by participating in experiments creating bath bombs. The Year 8 girls assisted with the experiments and guided them through writing aims and observations. It created great conversation and excitement.
We thank Fiona Feinnes for her eight years of dedicated service in the canteen and wish her all the very best.
Congratulations to all children who proudly represented the school at Tuesday's Ku-Ring-Gai Zone Swimming Carnival. Well done to Chloe Li, Alexander Nosek and Kyle Daniell for reaching the finals.
Congratulations to Zoe Dawson, Leah Twyman and Lucy Meares who were successful at the recent Ku-Ring-Gai and combined zone trials for touch football.
We also acknowledge Nicholas Wallace who was selected to participate in the Sydney North tennis trials.
New playground equipment is being proposed by the P&C. They are currently investigating and seeking quotes for playground equipment with the possibility of locating it next to the library. Any comment or ideas are welcome.
The process is in commencement of reviewing and renewing the OOSH provider. Should you wish to make any comments, please forward to me in writing.
