WAVES Program

Finally, after 2 cancellations due to the weather the WAVES Program commenced on Monday under sunny skies.

Students are undertaking structured activities at Forsters Beach to improve their fitness and to understand safe play while gaining knowledge of the risks and benefits of the ocean.

Indonesian Visitor

Last Wednesday we had a visit from  Jessica Stevens and Nicole Bratchford from the Asia Education Foundation out of Melbourne University. They made the long journey to Scotts Head in order to gain first hand knowledge of our approach to learning and meet with our Indonesian staff. The Asia Education Foundation is responsible for our sister school relationship with MiYasda in Jakarta, Indonesia and are always at hand to help us as we negotiate the education of our future leaders in becoming Asia aware and interculturally capable.

Terima kasih Jessica and Nicole for visiting us!

Principal’s Column

Hello, Giinagay, Hai,

Welcome to the Week 6 newsletter.

During the week we had an issue with a child crossing the road.  Please ensure you read the information below to ensure all our children get to and from school safely.

Driving and parking safely near your school

The beginning and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

You can help keep children safe by remembering the following:

  • Drop your child off and pick them up on the school side of the road
  • Never call out to them from across the road - it is very dangerous
  • Always take extra care in 40km school zones
  • Follow all parking signs - these help keep your child as safe as possible
  • Park responsibly even if it means you have to walk further to the school gate
  • Never double park - it is illegal and puts children at risk
  • Never do a U-turn or a three point turn outside the school as it puts children at risk of harm
  • Model safe and considerate pedestrian and driver behaviours to your child
  • Always give way to pedestrians particularly when entering and leaving driveways.

Thanks, yaarri yaraang, terima kasih.

Bu Gillian

Therefore it is only suitable if paying for a whole 10 weeks term, otherwise you would be forfeiting the left over.

This term we are offering a short term of 5-weeks starting next week for $45 upfront or $10 per class for drop-in. Please let us know if you would like to start so we can update our list.
