Dear Year 6 Parents of Confirmation candidates

There is a possibility that we may be able to have the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday 5th December. It would be limited guests and even possibly a proxy sponsor ( Miss Jones) . If this date is not possible your child will be able to join our Year 2021 Year 6 group.

Please keep this date free. More information to follow.

Camp Timothy

A big THANK YOU to families who have offered their tents and fire pits for the Year 6 Virtual camp. We will host the St Timothy's ONSITE camp in the week 7-11 November depending on the weather forecast.

The oval will be sectioned off, tents erected, and camp/beach games  e.g. totem tennis, board games provided.

More details to come as plans unfold.

Remembrance Day

On Wednesday November 11 at 11 o'clock St Timothy's celebrated Remembrance Day. The children watched a live stream and were captivated by the stories. It was wonderful to feel and see  the respect our children showed for the importance of this day. They then completed a variety of activities to learn more about this very significant event if history.

World Kindness day

On Friday we celebrated World Kindness day to remind us all to be kind. The Year 2/3 completed some beautiful activities and discussed about ways to be kind and how it feels when others are kind to us.

Some World Kindness Day ideas

Kindness Matters

In the moment

A fabulous day was had by staff and students alike on Thursday as we painted plaster molds and canvasses. A calm and peaceful air was punctuated by expressions of gratitude and genuine appreciation for the talents of others. We have some very talented artists in our school. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to sketch, colour or paint. Quiet conversation, listening to music, internet search for 'How to' videos, and focused attention to tasks were visible across all grades. It was a very special day.

Week 7: Wheels (TBC) / Teddy Bears Picnic

Week 8: Board Games and Lego Creations

Week 9: Summer fun - Beach Gear & Water Games Water

Week 10: Christmas crafts

Week 11: Wednesday - Video and Choc- tops

These activities are to focus on wellbeing, re connect and build new friendships. They will replace whole school assemblies ( not permitted)  and may only be for one to one and a half hour focus.

Weeks and activities may vary slightly.

Graduation & End of Year

As the restrictions continue to change, we remain hopeful that we can celebrate as a whole school on Monday 14th December for Celebrate the Learning (if restrictions permit).

Graduation for Year 6 will involve a Graduation Mass with possibility of Parents (limited numbers) and a Graduation Dinner (children only) Tuesday 15th December. The children are enjoying being an active part of the plans to create their own special Graduation Dinner.

Evacuation and Lock Down Drills

Last term because we were not on site we did not have our usual Fire and Evacuation drills. Over the next few weeks we will be having planned and spontaneous drills to remind children about our procedures. We will be practicing fire drills, lock downs ,out/ in and in/out drills.

Walk to School November

It is that time of year again where we promote the Whitehorse Council 'Walk To School' initiative. It is a great opportunity when the sun is shinning for children to walk, ride or scoot to school/home either alone or with a friend. What a great way to have a chat in the morning and afternoon. Whilst this year we won't be funded, we will look to run our normal Walk to School Breakfast in December.

Classroom Cuisine ( Lunch Orders)

On Wednesday we had  orders delivered from Classroom Cuisine. The children were all very excited and there was a wide range and choice of lunches.

A reminder that although you can order 2 or 3 items , it is delivered after recess so children need to bring a snack for morning tea.

Orders must be placed before 8:30 on Wednesdays and if ordered correctly you receive a confirmation email. Classroom Cuisine

Parent Teacher Interviews

I am very aware that there has been a great deal of communication between teachers and parents in regards to their child's work. This has been via phone calls, email, and Zoom sessions. We are planning to hold Parent Teacher interviews early in December (sending out reports a little earlier) to enable all parents to book a Parent Teacher Interview.

Naturally if you have any concerns , you are able to make a time to talk to teachers via Zoom before this time.
