PHPA - AGM Reminder

The Pittwater House Parents Association (PHPA) is a volunteer group, who assist in raising funds and running community events for the School.

We are always grateful for new members and to those that show interest in volunteering to help at events such as the upcoming Christmas Fair.

If you are interested in joining, or hearing about what we do, come along to our PHPA AGM tonight, Wednesday 7th September at 7pm in the Great Hall.

We have not had a meeting in a very long time, so would love the opportunity to see as many parents as possible – both new and established!

At the meeting we will also review the 2022 financials and elect the 2023 PHPA Committee. We will also publish a summary of the information after the meeting.

If you have time to join us, please RSVP to  PHPA@tphs.nsw.edu.au

Many thanks for your support.

Pittwater House Christmas Fair - Reminder

The Pittwater House Christmas Fair is our biennial fundraising event, hosted by our volunteer-run Pittwater House Parents’ Association (PHPA).

The last time we were able to celebrate was in 2018 (thanks to COVID-19) where over 2,000 people from all over the Northern Beaches attended.

This year, we expect it to be bigger, with even more attendees flooding our School Oval, and better than before, raising more funds for the PHPA’s initiatives. To date, the PHPA have this year, delivered much needed improvements to our School such as a new Junior School playground, new laser cutting machines and a new lighting rig in the Performing Arts Centre.

We are excited to announce and thank these Pittwater House family businesses who have come on board to sponsor the event.

There are plenty of great sponsorship opportunities to fit all budgets, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss these with you, whether you have a family run business or you know someone who has a business who would like to get involved. Our PHPA goals are simple:

to support the community and its businesses and continue providing exceptional facilities for our current and future students.”

If you would like to discuss sponsorship opportunities, please email: phpa@tphs.nsw.edu.au

Clothing Pool Update

We are delighted to announce that the Clothing Pool is finally able to return to normal operations, meaning you do not need to make an appointment to come in and check out our amazing range of uniform stock.

We obviously need to continue to be vigilant around COVID safe practices, limiting numbers where required, however we are looking forward to seeing our visitors able to drop in and see us.

Our friendly, helpful volunteers operate the clothing pool:

Monday - 12.30pm to 1.30pm

Tuesday - 8.15am to 9.30am

Thursday - 2pm to 3.15pm

We are located next to the pool and School Uniform Shop and are ready to help you out with all your Term 4 Summer uniform requirements.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

K-6 Pyjama Day - Reminder

Pyjama Day is back and will be held on Thursday 22 September (Week 10) to help support the Love of Learning Program developed by the Pyjama Foundation.

Students are asked to come to school in their pyjamas in exchange for a donation to the Pyjama Foundation so they can continue their work in instilling the love of learning to kids in Foster Care. We would love to see as many students in their PJs to support this great cause.

Please click here to donate to the Pittwater House School Page and don’t forget to wear your PJs: https://fundraise.thepyjamafoundation.com/fundraisers/pittwaterhouseschool

About the Love of Learning Program…

The Love of Learning Program was developed by The Pyjama Foundation to empower children in Foster Care with learning, life skills and confidence to change the direction of their lives.

Our Program is the only service of its type supporting children in care with evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs in the out-of-school environment in Australia.

Volunteers, known as ‘Pyjama Angels’, are screened, trained, recruited and then matched with a child in Foster Care. Together, they spend an hour a week reading books aloud, playing educational games and engaging in fun activities. A Pyjama Angel’s role is to provide consistent love and support, and most importantly, instil a love of learning in children.

Pyjama Angels give a Foster Child the chance to find their wings and reach their life potential, despite a fragile start.

The Pyjama Foundation has a resource library in every region where volunteers can borrow books, games and resources to take to the children each week. This is a free service.
