FROM THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Dear Parents/Caregivers

As the end of the year fast approaches, we are planning for 2023. Teachers are starting to create classes for next year. Parents who wanted requests considered were asked to email their requests by 31st October 2022. Class placement is a lengthy process considering many factors that teachers discern and work through for the best outcome of all students. There are still a few vacancies in classes for late enrolments.

Today, we had our first Transition visit of our new 2023 Reception students. They will be visiting St Patrick’s School for the next 3 weeks getting to know the teachers and other students in their class.

Please note, that School Fees will remain constant and will not be increased in 2023.

Last night, we held our annual Instrumental Concert, which provides the opportunity for students learning an instrument during school hours to perform to an audience. It was a wonderful evening and particularly pleasing to see the growth in students who have been learning for a few years. Thank you to Andrea Panozzo our Performing Arts teacher for coordinating this event with the support of Sam, Vito & Carlie.

Volunteers are an important part of all schools. Their time and commitment allow us to take on extra curricula activities for the students. To show our thanks and appreciation, all volunteers are warmly invited to a Liturgy and Morning Tea on Monday 28th November at 9am in the Church.

Next Friday, 18th November is a Pupil Free Day. Staff will be involved in Professional Leaning around analysing data to inform our teaching and learning. Camp Australia will be offering childcare on the day for parents who work. Please make your booking as soon as possible if you are intending to use them. Bookings can be made by phone on 1300 105 343.

In all things love

FROM THE APRIM

Acts of Kindness at St Patrick’s

I would like to highlight the wonderful Acts of Kindness that Nawaz and his friends share every week. Nawaz came to me asking if he could run an art workshop each Tuesday at lunch time for children who might not have people to play with or anyone who wanted to be involved. Initially he worked with younger students one week and older students the next and now it is open to whoever would like to be involved. Nawaz and his friends, Tanveer, Tyson B, Mochi, Thienlong and Ranveer, organise a different craft/art activity each week and have all of the materials they need ready for the children to use. His initiative has helped a number of children enjoy the activities as well as build relationships with other students who they might not have known or spent time with previously. We thank Nawaz and his friends for their kindness and are proud of their leadership and the service they offer for others.

Teaching younger students how to play volleyball

Another act of kindness I observed during the week was Richard and Bao, 4/5AL, teaching some younger students volleyball skills. Volleyball is an important game at St Patrick’s and the younger students are eager to be involved. Bao and Richard took the time to include them and help them learn some of the skills. Well done Bao and Richard.

Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Communion Program 2023

Enrolment forms are now available for the Croydon Park Parish 2023 Sacramental Preparation Program. Children who are in Year 3 and above in 2023, have been baptised in the Catholic Church and have not received the sacraments earlier are invited to join the preparation program for next year. Please complete the enrolment form and return to Anne-Marie Platten at St Patrick’s School with a copy of your child’s baptism certificate before the end of the school year. The first parent/child meeting will be held on February 8, 2023 at Whitefriars’ Hall. Please contact me at school on 8303 4500 if you have any questions.

Enjoy this lovely weather

FROM THE FINANCE OFFICER

School Fees 2022

A friendly reminder to those families, who do not have a direct debit set up, that the full school year school fees were due by the last day of Term 3 the 30/9/22. If your fees are still outstanding please pay as soon as possible, thank you.

We offer direct debit, BPay, EFTPOS and also direct deductions from Centrelink payments to cater to the changing financial needs of our families at St Patrick’s School. When the direct debit payment option is selected your school fee payment is calculated over the full school year right up until the 31st of December 2022. This means smaller payments are required, making this method the most affordable way to budget for your commitment. Please come into the office or ring me on 83034500 if one of these options would better suit your financial requirements.

School Card 2022 is closing at the end of October please see me if you have not applied for 2022 School Card. If you do not apply unfortunately I can’t apply your school card remission and you will be required to pay full fees.  School Card must be applied for each year.

If at any time you are having trouble meeting your school fee commitment, or have any queries, please contact me on 83034500 to discuss this matter.

ORDERING LUNCHES WITH QKR!

Please be aware that COVID symptoms include one or more of the symptoms below. If your child is unwell please keep them home and follow SA Health guidelines.

IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFORMATION

Ambulance cover

The school has ambulance cover for students who have accidents here at school or while on a school organised event.  However, this cover does not include students with a pre-existing condition such as asthma and anaphylaxis or reactions to allergies.

We will ring an ambulance if we need support in administering first aid,  however in the case of students with pre-existing conditions the  parents will be charged by Ambulance SA for their service.

This can cost upward of $900 so we strongly encourage you to take out ambulance cover, particularly if your child has a pre-existing health condition.
