Ellalong Public School

Safe Respectful Learners

Term 1 Week 6 eNewsletter

The year has continued well and we are seeing some fantastic work coming from our students. Check out the photographs below of some of the things happening in classrooms this week.

Thank you to the parents who responded to the survey and indicated an interest in learning more about how they can support their child's reading skill development at home. These sessions will be run later in the term. Stay tuned!

Our attendance results are in.... DoE Annual Report data says that we achieved 92.1% attendance in 2019, compared to 92.8% across the state. Unfortunately, this is a little decline in attendance since 2018 where we achieved 93.6%. Hopefully, we will achieve our 94% attendance target in 2020!

Ellalong Public School has been awarded a $15 000 sustainable schools grant! Over the coming weeks, we will be looking at waste and recycling within the school, and determining how and where we can make improvements. Also, we are looking to install a rain water tank that will capture the water off the shed over our playground equipment. This will help us establish and improve our gardens in the area.  Thank you to Vanessa Miller for successfully applying for the grant!

Our thanks must go to Miss Logan-Pye for successfully applying for a Sporting School Australia grant, which enables us to run this program at no cost to parents.

Term 2- The highly popular Dance 2B Fit program will start in Term 2 Week 2 and conclude in Term 2 Week 9.

A big thank you to the P & C for supporting our families and paying for this program again in 2020.

At the conclusion of this program, students will receive a free mic ruler.
