We are at the halfway mark for Term 4. The weather is starting to warm up which is great, however just a reminder to our students to ensure that you have a school bucket hat on whilst outside, and don't forget to bring your drink bottles with water. If they have a pair of school sunglasses they should wear them to protect their eyes. This week was the last week for gymnastics. It has been great to see the students challenging themselves on the equipment.
Road Safety
When parents and carers are dropping off and picking up their children during school times, please ensure that you walk with with your child/ren to the school side of the road. The same applies when collecting students after school. Please meet them on the school side. Mornings and afternoons are extremely busy with traffic around the school.
Captains Speeches
Last week some of our year five students presented their speeches for 2021 captains positions. They can all be very proud of themselves. The 2021 winners will be announced at the end of year presentation.
Public Speaking Competition
We also had students participating in our Public Speaking competition. Again the students who participated should be extremely proud of their effort. The winning student was Manya from Year 6. Manya will present her speech at the end of year presentation.
Stewart House Donation Drive 2020
Any students who have the Stewart House Donation Drive envelopes, these need to be returned to the school no later than Friday 20th November so that we can return them to Stewart House in time for the draw.
Canteen Closed
Goulburn South will not operate the school canteen for the remainder of the year. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you are unable to provide lunch for your child, please contact the office on the morning and we will endeavour to provide a sandwich.
COVID 19
Students who are unwell - In accordance with advice from NSW Health, parents and carers are reminded NOT to send children to school if they are unwell, even if they have the mildest flu-like symptoms. If a student presents to the office unwell, a member of staff will take the students temperature and contact the family or emergency contacts to come and collect the student from school.
NSW Health has requested that schools encourage anyone who is unwell or has even mild flu-like symptoms, to arrange to be tested through their local medical practitioner or one of the COVID 19 clinics.
Students and staff with flu-like symptoms will need to be tested and provide a copy of a negative COVID-19 test result and be symptom-free before being permitted to return to school.
Students who do not undertake a COVID-19 test result will not be permitted to return to school for a 10 day period. Additionally, they must be symptom-free for at least 3 days prior to returning to school.
Students who have seasonal allergic rhinitis or another condition that presents similarly to flu-like symptoms are still required to get tested for COVID-19 and return a negative test result. Where their symptoms continue beyond 10 days, students should provide documentation from their GP confirming their symptoms are typical for their condition. If the student develops new or changed symptoms, they should get tested for COVID-19.
