Pick Up and Drop Off Zone

Thank you to all parents who have been using our PICK UP and DROP OFF ZONE correctly and safely. Remember DO NOT leave your car in the PICK UP and DROP OFF ZONE. If you wish to escort your child to the school gate in the morning, you must park in the parking area opposite the school and use the top crossing to enter the school grounds. When picking up your child using our Pick Up Zone you are to clearly display your family name on your car’s front window or sun visor, remain in your car and follow the direction of the staff responsible for the Pick Up Zone operation. Please follow the car in front of you to the end of the pick up lane so no space is left.  If your child is unable to enter your car and buckle themselves safely, you will need to continue to the end of the zone to attend to them or meet them in an alternate place. Every parent has the right to pick up and drop their child safely at school and we are responsible for every child’s safety.

Swimming Carnival

Luckily the rain held off for our swimming carnival on Friday.  The spirit and sportsmanship shown by all participants was amazing.   A special thanks to the parents who assisted with timing and to the parents and carers who came along to show their support.   Thanks to the teachers for their hard work on the day which showed in the smooth running of the carnival.

Cross Country

Fingers crossed we have the same luck with the weather for Cross Country this Friday 1st April! The event will commence at 9.40am for Years 3-6 students and any Year 2 students who have returned their permission note.  Parents wanting to watch are asked to do so from the fence line outside the high school oval and the park opposite the school. Just a reminder the school road will be closed from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Parent and Teacher Interviews

Parent and teacher interviews have commenced this week with many parents making appointments to speak to their child/ren’s teacher.   The feedback has been extremely positive thus far. If you are unable to make the time booked please contact the office so the teacher can be informed.  A phone interview may be an alternative if you are unable to make it in person.

Easter Hat Parade

The Easter Hat Parade is happening on Friday 8th April at 12.00pm.  Two family members per child are welcome to attend but please remember to check in with the QR Code.  All our students are looking forward to creating their Easter Hats with their buddy class.  Don't forget to send in an Easter themed donation for the P&C Raffle.  Raffle tickets can be purchased online - refer to the P&C section below for details.

Make My Day!

Last week I had the pleasure of a visit from Lennon P in 1M. Lennon showed me his wonderful descriptive writing about 'The Gruffalo' - great work Lennon!

This term we have also been looking at different artists, including Wassily Kandinsky. We were inspired to create our own abstract artworks. We think they look amazing!

Top Blokes

Top Blokes group discussed Masculinities!

We talked about what does it mean to be a man. Healthy and unhealthy stereotypes of being male and the different influences that make up those stereotypes.

Masculinity is a social construct; it exists because as a society we agree that it does.

History and different cultures allows us to see that the definition of what being a man is, is a changing concept and can look different to everyone.

We at Top Blokes believe that being a man is about being a good person, honest, respectful, loyal and trustworthy.

Have a conversation with your young man about positive male traits they possess or think that they should. Let us know below.

Easter Hat Parade

Hippity hop, hippity hop here comes... "The Easter Hat Parade'!

This year our Easter extravaganza will be held on Friday 8th April 2022. No need to rush out and buy things to make your child’s Easter hat. This year the students are getting together with their buddy class to make their Easter hats, with resources provided by the school, as explained in the note that came home this week.

Grow Your Mind

As we near the end of our first term and head into the school holidays, it is important to use our Grow Your Mind animals to be the best we can be and take care of each other.

This fortnight is the ELEPHANT who helps us remember what we have learnt. To flourish we need to continue learning something new everyday, take time to breath and move our bodies!
