From the Principal

Deputy Principal Appointment

I am delighted to announce that after a process extended by the Covid 19 restrictions, our Deputy Principal recruitment is finally complete. On behalf of our school, I would like to congratulate Ms Michelle Pascoe, who will be taking up the permanent position of  Deputy Principal at Eleebana PS from the beginning of next term.

Ms Pascoe comes to us from Caves Beach Public School. She is a highly experienced educator with an outstanding background in pedagogy and curriculum; student wellbeing, and executive support. Ms Pascoe has special interests in Literacy, extracurricular learning and Sport.

We are very excited to welcome her into our team!

Mr Nathan May will continue his excellent work in the relieving Deputy role until the end of term, while Mr Dean Burrows relieves as Assistant Principal Junior Wellbeing, and Ms Shannon Bakic continues with the beautiful 2M.

Mobile Phones and Smart Devices

Please find attached our school procedures around mobile phones and other smart devices.

On the whole, our school discourages students from bringing mobile phones or smart devices to school. This includes smart watches (being watches that can text or make calls, take photos, sound recordings or access the internet). There is no opportunity for these devices to be used on school grounds and they risk theft or damage.

We recognize, however, that in some circumstances parents may have safety concerns that require their child to take a phone or device to school, and currently students are permitted to keep these devices turned off in their bags. Similarly, smart watches, if they are to be worn, must be switched to airplane mode during school hours.

If these devices are in use at school without permission, they may be confiscated and will need to be collected from an executive teacher by the student’s parent or guardian at the end of the day.
