PRINCIPAL'S NEWS

Dear Parents

It has been a “blast off” on a scientific scale this term with Science week being a huge success.  The displays in the undercover area were tremendous and showed the talent and creativity of students, not to mention the satisfaction of showing off to all the school and the community the knowledge and skill that they have.  Planning, preparing and presenting these Expos is not an easy task and I would like to encourage you to thank your child’s teacher for all the effort that they made to engage children in the creative process, communicating with each other and collaborating to make the displays.  I would also like to thank Ms O'Bryan for coordinating the week and successfully applying for a grant to purchase material for the displays.  Ms O’Bryan's efforts were so impressive, that Mrs Melissa Callanan, the Director of Famelab, at the WA Museum came to see the Expo, took photos of the displays to show others at the Museum and left very impressed with how well the students were able to tell her what they had learnt.

The Busy Bee on Sunday was spectacular with the Leach family, Shane and Cody Warnock, Candice and David Tuffley, the Cunningham family, Steve Malajczuk and Jen Allen, Phuong Hua and kids, Mrs Lishman, Mrs Thomas and the effervescent Mr Pham.  Thank you to all these people, a small group, but did they work hard and do a terrific job advancing our Nature Playground for you and your children.

ATTENDANCE

We have had another drop in attendance since the last report so please stay healthy and be at school every day.  The ONLY reason you should stay at home is because you are sick or there are some extenuating circumstances.

Remember to wash your hands after going to the toilet and before eating to help stop the spread of germs.

The K's and P/P's, increased their attendance so an awesome effort to those students.  The year 3 students have maintained their attendance since last time so great job threes.

100% ATTENDANCE

Last term we had 88 excellent students with 100% attendance.  I am so proud of those students for being at school every day.  You are giving yourself the best chance of achieving the best outcomes for yourself.  Fantastic job to all those people.

Let's see if we can get 100 students attend every day this term.

Testing at Rawlinson Primary School will occur in the next 2 weeks.

The scores from the test will be used in the selection of students for PEAC courses and extension programs during 2020 to 2021 and also to inform educational provision in schools.

If you do not wish your child to be included in the PEAC assessment please notify Mrs J. Large in writing by Monday 12th August.

YOUR P & C NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Our team of dedicated parents works hard to bring lots of fun and fabulous resources into our school, but we need help with a very important task.

We need a Uniforms Co-ordinator.  This position involves stocking our uniform store, managing online orders and opening the uniform store occasionally.  Full training is provided, we have volunteers ready to assist you and we can work around your availability.

If you’d like more information about this position, or other ways you can help, please get in touch with Karen by emailing rawlinson.pandc@gmail.com or text 041 356 3556 and we’ll chat!
