Hi LEPS Community,
Due to time constraints, I have had to go ‘old school’ for our newsletter this week.
After Ian Luscombe’s visit last week, the school leadership team and staff have been tightening up and clarifying our behaviour management processes. This will lead to the development of a LEPS Behaviour Management Guideline for staff and students which aligns with our Positive Behaviour for Learning framework.
Ian’s visit has supported staff to get students to participate and engage in learning through fair and reasonable instructions, which are followed by a set of protocols to restore students to learning. Last week and continuing into this week we have had great success with many of our students as we continue to be consistent with our delivery. When we have refined this into a parent document, we will share this with you all.
Our Cross Country is due to run this Friday, although slightly modified to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. This includes no parent spectators as it is a closed event. We wish our competitors the best of luck and hope for sunny skies.
Miss Kitty Trevaskis will be replacing Mrs Elise Boulton for the remainder of the term running our intervention groups. Students will follow along with the same program that they have started.
This week we are also celebrating Refugee Week – although not in our normal way. Rather, students are engaging in activities and online material within their classrooms.
At the end of Term 2, we would normally be celebrating NAIDOC Week, however, this has been rescheduled to Week 1 Term 3. We will be unveiling our new yarning circle as well as running activities. More information will come out as this celebration event will have to be adjusted to meet COVID-19 restrictions.
Until next week, that’s been the buzz this week.
