#EveryWeekIsEducationWeek
In NSW, we celebrate public education annually in Term 3 Week 3. This year, Education Week will be celebrated 3-7 August, with the theme being 'Learning together'.
As we know too well, this has been quite an unusual year so far for us all; I am so very proud of how the Balmain Public School community has navigated and kept connected throughout the period of remote learning, to ensure we are all learning together.
Students, staff and families have all worked together and supported each other for our students, to ensure the learning continues throughout these previously unchartered waters.
Although we won't be able to share our Education Week celebrations with you on-site this year as we normally would, we will continue to connect via the Pigeon Post and our Instagram account. Hooray for public education!
Alternatively, you can call Kirsty on 0416 786 603 and we will be happy to assist.

Spotlight on...
1/2 MANGROVE!!!!!!
In 1/2M, we have had a jam-packed, fabulous, extraordinary, creative and collaborative start to Term 3! Can you spot what type of words we have been focusing on this term? That’s right, it’s been all about the detail in our class with our use of adjectives. They have been helping us in English to learn how to write exciting character descriptions!
What’s the matter with Maths? Well it all depends on the object really... we have been learning about and comparing the mass of different objects around our classroom according to how much ‘matter’ they contain.
In Literacy Groups we’ve been using Reading Eggs, creating our own character descriptions, making rainbow spelling words, writing our own books, playing spelling word games, writing fact files and making silly sentences!
