As we head towards the back end of Term 3, we find ourselves wondering where the year has gone. Our students continue to be very busy, as we work our way through the backlog of activities that weโve managed to catch up on after a very wet first half of the year and, last week, we were very pleased to send a number of our students off to the TLPSSA Zone Athletics Carnival, where two of these competitors were successful in performing well enough to now represent both our school and Tuggerah Lakes at the next level, Sydney North. Congratulations, Eziekial and Arianah! Congratulations, also, to the amazing students who last week performed at the Central Coast Schools Showcase. You did yourselves, your families and our school proud. Well done! Thank you to Miss Scotton and her team, who put loads of time and effort in to provide this fantastic opportunity for our students.
While on the subject of great opportunities, our Stage 3 students are very eagerly anticipating their upcoming excursion to Glenworth Valley on Tuesday and Wednesday of Week 7, which is taking the place of the overnight excursion. Whilst it is unfortunate that the overnight excursion was placed on hold for 2022, we are sure that our students will still have a tremendous time at Glenworth Valley, where they will be provided with the opportunity to participate in a range of fun activities over the two days. Our teachers are really looking forward to spending some time doing some pretty cool stuff with our students outside the classroom.
In the coming weeks, our P and C will hold our annual Fathers Day Stall on Wednesday 31st August (K-4 and Support Classes) and Thursday 1st September (Years 5 and 6)- we thank our amazing parent and family volunteers for their ongoing support of our school in making this happen. The following week, our Book Parade will be held on Wednesday, September 7, from 9.30am under the new COLA outside the hall. Mrs Lane and Mrs Adams have been working very hard behind the scenes in preparation for what is always a great event, and we canโt wait to see some of the amazing costumes our students will present to us all on the day. The theme for 2022 Book Week is Dreaming with Eyes Open. We look forward to welcoming our families into our school to join us on this day.
Thank you all, our families, for your continued support in getting your kids to school and your efforts in ensuring that they come to us each day ready to learn and to give their very best. Have a great weekend.
