Assembly
We were entertained by EC3 last Friday with a great song and a lot of movement. Well done to all students and staff for an excellent assembly. The previous week saw a whole school assembly as part of our Remembrance Service.
There will be a Senior assembly this week. I hope to see you there.
Interm Swimming
The second fortnight of swimming commenced this week. I am sure students will be trying very hard to get their next stage as they progress through the ten lessons. The previous fortnight saw the Year 5 and 6 students only do five lessons due to a shortage of instructors. Even though they only had five lessons some of the students were still able to pass onto the next stage. This was the only way we could ensure all students had the opportunity to swim and I believe it worked out quite well for all.
iPad Information Session
Parents of Year 2 students are invited to an information session on the use of iPads in the school on Tuesday 27th November from 2:10pm to 2:45pm in the Staff Room. This is to explain the reason behind the use of iPads and how Year 3 students can bring BYOD iPads to school next year. I hope you can come along to get the necessary information for 2019.
End of Year Concert
Our concert will be held on Wednesday 5th December at Centennial Park commencing at 6pm. I know year groups are busy preparing for the night and it promises to be very entertaining for all. I only hope the weather will be kind to us and we get a pleasant evening. As part of fundraising for next year’s camp, parents of the Year 5 students will be holding a sausage sizzle and drink stall on the night. Please support them as they fundraise for the event next year. A program for the night will be sent home prior to the evening.
2019 Class Allocation
During this term the staff and I will be working on the class structure for 2019. To assist us in this process I ask any parent who will be moving on at the end of the year to let us know via email or a note sent in. This will assist us in ensuring we have the right number of staff and classrooms ready for the new school year. I also ask any parent with a request regarding class placement for their child/ren to come into the office and get a Class Placement Request form so we can put it on record to be considered later in the term. I cannot guarantee that every request will be granted but it will be considered. Please see me if you have any questions.
