A message from the Principal

Well, it is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of week 4 already!  It has been a fabulous start to the term.  There are many special activities happening across the school, with the RAA Road Safety team visiting to speak with students over the last week, and classrooms getting ready for swimming lessons next week

It was lovely to see many families here with their students at our Meet and Greet night last week.  For some of you, it was the first time that you have ben allowed to enter classrooms due to Covid.  The school was filled with a positive buzz, and both Kym and I enjoyed talking to families as we wandered around.  Thank you for helping to make the night a success.

The Governing Council AGM is being held on Tuesday the 28th of March at 7pm, in the staffroom.  We are still accepting nominations to join the Governing Council and committees.  If you are interested in attending the AGM, or joining the Council or a Committee, please click on the link below.  We would love to see you there!

Our annual Sports Day is being planned for Thursday April 6th, excitement is building in classes and staff are busy planning and organising the events for the day.  We will share more information as it becomes available. We are hoping for fabulous weather, as I know the weather was not kind to us last year. I am looking forward to connecting with families on this day.

SAFETY REMINDERS

We have noticed many students arriving at school, and are on site before 8:30am.  A reminder that yard supervision does not begin until 8:30am and we ask that families please encourage students to arrive after this time.  The safety of our students is important.

The yard is supervised after school until 3:20pm.  We understand that families often like to stay and enjoy the play equipment after this time.  Please can we ask that students are supervised and in line of site by families after school if staying to play.

Early Years News

Early Years News…

What a fantastic start to the year for our youngest learners. It is a big step starting school for both children and families. We have 44 new Receptions this year over 4 Reception/Year 1 classes and Junior Primary Special Class. They are learning A LOT. Who the important adults are, routines and rules, making friends, a new vocabulary of school words such as assembly, recess, Performing Arts and PE! Our Receptions are working on being brave and building independence on top of learning their next steps in Maths and English! School doesn’t always start out perfect for all children. A child's relationship with school is an ongoing, developing relationship. Open communication with your child's teacher is always key. Please keep in touch via SeeSaw or organise a time with your child’s teacher for a chat. Well done to all our new learners on a positive and brave start to school for 2023.

Garden Club

Garden Club News

Our first Garden Club group for the year met on Monday of Week 3. More than 150 children across the school have registered interest in wanting to be a part of the Garden Club this year which is an amazing response.

Thank you to our "green thumbs" this week who were Jace P10, Samriddhi P7, Eeshan P3, Lachlan J3 and Aarna J4. Together they planted carrots, magnolias and kale in our garden beds and provided them with much needed water for the hot days ahead.
