Term 3 - Week 9 Wrap Up

Weekly Wrap Up

?CONGRATULATIONS? TO OUR FIRST SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS LIAM AND SETH

After launching our brand new scholarship program last month, we were excited to award our first two scholarship recipients Liam (Y6) and Seth (Y6) on assembly this week with $200 each for reaching State Level competitions in their chosen activities.

As a P&C, part of our mission is to support students within our school community with the additional financial pressures that come with high level representative activities, to help them realise their dreams and ensure they can take advantage of every opportunity available.

Scholarships are open to all Robina students year round. There is $200 (State Level), $300 (National Level) and $500 (International Level) amounts available.

To find out more or apply, see https://robinasspandc.com.au/scholarships. If you know of a Robina student achieving amazing things, please be sure to let them know!

Well done to both boys - we are very #RobinaProud of your achievements!! ??

Welcome the lovely team from Spirit of Gold Coast Whale Watching

We were super excited to welcome the lovely team from Spirit of Gold Coast Whale Watching this week, to meet our Year 6 poster design competition winner and officially thank them for their generous prize donation with a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the school and P&C.

We are so grateful to the local businesses who support our school, and we encourage our school community to support them as well! ??

Congratulations again to Valentina for an amazing poster design which so beautifully captures the importance of looking after our waterways, reducing plastic wastage and caring for our environment.

And another massive thank you to our VP of Projects Jodhi for coordinating the whole thing - you are a superstar! ???

ROBINA FAMILIES... WE NEED YOUR HELP⁉️WHO DO YOU KNOW...

Do you know anyone that might be interested in sponsoring our Robina State School Christmas Fair on 6 Dec this year?

Your business? Someone you know? The company you work for maybe? ??

This free community event will include rides, showbags, student performances, community carols, food vendors and more. We have roughly 600 local families in our school of ~800 students so if you know of a business servicing this area, this is a great opportunity for some community engagement and exposure!!

Plus — we love to support the businesses that support us! ??

This year we’re raising money for our new Senior Oval Playground, so the more we can raise, the quicker we can build it! But this event will only be possible with the support of sponsors ☺️ See the flyer below with more details - if you (or anyone you know) is interested or would like more info, please send us a message or email fundraising@robinasspandc.com.au ???

CONGRATULATIONS Robina

We are so #RobinaProud of our amazing music program at Robina... DID YOU KNOW we have been awarded BEST PRIMARY SCHOOL or runner up at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod for the last 13 YEARS IN A ROW! ???

Now, we sure have some amazing students at Robina, but that sort of consistency can only be a result of an AMAZING teaching team, so today we want to give them a HUGE shout out and say thank you for all your tireless hard work in giving our kids the opportunity to be part of multi award-winning bands and orchestras! ?????

THANK YOU Mrs Elkins, Mrs Urie and Mrs Hurst!!! ? #ourteachersrock #simplythebest #thankyou #celebratethewins #weloverobina

ROBINA IS MOVING TO QKR!

We're excited to announce that the Robina P&C is moving to Qkr! for our online Tuckshop, Uniform Shop and Fundraiser sales. One of the key reasons for this change is to eliminate the $3.65 per term parents currently have to pay to have a MunchMonitor account - with Qkr! there is NO cost to parents - and it also costs us less, which means more money going back into the kids & school!! ?

We think Qkr! makes ordering online much easier with their user-friendly phone app, and there's no more "topping up" your account - you simply pay for your orders as you go from your linked credit or debit card.

DOWNLOAD QKR TODAY TO GET STARTED, THEN: 1. Search for & select Robina State School 2. Create a profile for each of your children 3. Add one or more payment cards 4. You're ready to order!

***NOTE: We will still continue to accept MunchMonitor orders for the rest of Term 3 so we encourage you to use up any pre-loaded credit you have in MunchMonitor as soon as possible, then you can start using Qkr! straight away.

We are now LIVE and ready to accept Qkr! orders now - so as soon as you have used up any remaining MunchMonitor credit you can start using Qkr!.

FAQS:

Q: What if I have already pre-ordered in Munchmonitor for future dates? A: We will be accepting BOTH QKR and MUNCHMONITOR orders for the rest of Term 3. From Term 4 onwards we will only be accepting Qkr! orders.

Q: Can I transfer any unused credit from MunchMonitor to Qkr? A: Unfortunately no, we can't transfer any remaining credit from MunchMonitor so please use up any MM credit this term!!

Q: What if I have trouble downloading or using Qkr? A: If you have any questions or problems please email president@robinasspandc.com.au for support.

Q: What if I don't have a current MunchMonitor account? A: Great - you can download and start using Qkr! straight away!

Thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we transition to this new system, which we are confident you will agree is a much better and easier system for online orders and payments. ?

Jammies for Jimy - THIS FRIDAY - Gold Coin Donation

THIS FRIDAY children are invited to wear their onesies or pyjamas to school. Please bring a gold coin donation towards the Student Councils new World Vision sponsor child Jimy Iranzi.

Since 1996, the Robina State School student council have supported World Vision by sponsoring a child. Following sponsorship for the last child Hadiya in Ethiopia for 15+ years, her community are now well-equipped and self-sufficient (wow!)... so the student council voted to transfer their support to another child - Jimy from Burandi, East Africa! He is 8 years old and in his community, child malnutrition is very high.
