Uniforms
Havenlee School Polo shirts can be purchased at the office for $25 each (cash only). The uniform for primary students is a light blue polo shirt and a Navy polo shirt is for high school students (high school students can still wear white polo shirts). All other uniform items can be purchased at local shops who sell generic school uniforms. If you have any questions regarding uniforms please ring the office Ph: 4421 3777
Communication
We welcome and encourage communication between home and school by your child’s diary. If your child uses Assisted School Travel, please do not tell the drivers or ATSO’s information to be passed onto the school. We are not able to follow through on anything delivered this way. If you do not have time to write in the diary and need to inform the school of anything, please phone the office on Ph: 4421 3777. Most school communication will be sent home via the Skoolbag App. Please contact the office if you need assistance with this.
Bus Bay routine
The mornings and afternoons are very busy around the Havenlee School bus bay. There are both Havenlee and North Nowra PS students arriving and leaving at approximately the same time. Please keep a watch out for pedestrians around the bus bay area.
Generally, only buses are to go into the Havenlee bus bay area. All parents/carers who drop off and/or pick up their student by car are to park in the “kiss and drop” area out the front of the school (in the afternoon, no cars are to park in the kiss and drop area before 2:30pm unless picking up a child early). If you have a Havenlee sign on the dashboard of your car, you will be allowed to briefly leave your car to drop off/collect your child (the Havenlee signs are available from the office).
PLPs/ITPs
PLP/ITP Meetings are starting in week 4. A note explaining the PLP/ITP process will be sent home soon. Your contribution to the process is essential in making sure the priorities in your child’s Personalised Learning Plan/Personal learning Pathways are the best ones for him/her currently. It is also helpful for us to make sure all your contact details are up to date at School. If for some reason you cannot make it to your child’s PLP meeting, please let the school know and we will attempt to have it rescheduled to another time. We look forward to seeing you soon.
COVID Guidelines
In line with the health advice and community settings, the department will continue implementing baseline COVID-smart measures in schools throughout Term 1. These include:
- students, staff and families to stay home if unwell and test for COVID-19 if showing any symptoms
- boosted day cleaning of high touch areas in our school
- requiring masks for staff and volunteers who interact with students at greater risk of serious illness if they were to contract COVID-19 – including in SSPs
- maintaining natural ventilation with windows and doors open whenever possible, including when cooling/heating systems are in use
We will be delivering more RATs home today. If you need more tests, please don’t hesitate to contact the school via email or phone.
We look forward to working with you throughout the year.
Kind Regards,
Katrina Eyland
